What is eldest daughter syndrome? While it's not a clinical term it can be defined as an informal, non-clinical term used to describe a common pattern of emotional and behavioral experiences often reported by oldest daughters in families. It is not a medical or DSM diagnosis, but a social and psychological concept. It typically refers to the experience of taking on excessive responsibility, caregiving, or emotional labor at a young age, sometimes at the expense of one’s own needs. Kayleigh is here to talk about her experience having 6 siblings and often being the caretaker to the oldest three that she grew up with. Thank you Kayleigh for joining us on the pod!
