With the trade deadline continuing to approach, Brock and Salk talk through if the Mariners could make a trade with the Braves, including the possibility of Ronald Acuna. After that, they talk through each of the four Mariners All-Star selections and dive in the cases on both sides for Julio Rodriguez getting the nod.
Brock and Salk are still trying to make sense of who the Mariners are and who the rest of the league is, because there is so much uncertainty despite it being after the 4th of July. Salk also has to fully admit he was wrong and walk back a take of his, and it has to do with Cal Raleigh being intriguing. In Blue 88, topics include some Seahawks breaking news that we missed from last week, who is the Seahawks equivalent of Julio Rodriguez making the All-Star Game and which UW Husky is making early noise in the first round of 2026 NFL Mock Drafts.
Salk is back and describes the reason for the Mariners recent success on the homestand: it's the pitching. It always has been and always will be when describing the key to the team's success. Then, they go Around The Weekend and talk through the entire four day weekend, featuring plenty of Mariners discussion.
Aaron Goldsmith joins Brock Huard and Bryan Walters to discuss Cal Raleigh being named a starter in the All Star Game and why Emerson Hancock was optioned and Logan Evans is returning to the lineup. Then, we discuss the M's win, Cal discusses the news that he's starting the All Star game, and MLB Network proposes an M's trade for a big name bat in Need to Know. Plus, we take your calls.
The hour starts by listening through fan voicemails for Here's The Thing. Afterwards, Gee Scott stops by for his weekly appearance.
Brock and Bryan Walters dive into Cal Raleigh being named the AL starting catcher for the All Star Game and talk through the incredible first half that he's had. They then go Around The NFL, with stories from Minkah Fitzpatrick, the 2026 NFL Draft and more. Maura and Lyle open the show by reacting to the idea that Joel Sherman of MLB Network floated out yesterday about a potential trade for Ronald Acuna. Could the Mariners actually get involved? Later, they re-air their conversation with Jeff Passan of ESPN as they discuss Cal Raleigh, the Mariners recent stretch of games, Julio and the trade deadline.
Would you rather the M's acquire two bats in Josh Naylor and Eugenio Suarez or just one in Alex Bregman at the deadline? Then, we hear from Salk on why he want the M's to go after Bregman, what he thinks about Cal's four strikeouts after HR derby practice and his top moments of Haley Huard's wedding Ranked.
Brock and Bryan Walters talk through some potential Mariners trade candidates, including Alex Bregman due to the Seattle Times article written by Adam Jude. After that, they bring on Jeff Passan of ESPN to discuss Cal Raleigh, Julio Rodriguez's ceiling, the idea of the Mariners trading for Alex Bregman and more.
Brock and Bryan Walters dig into the idea that the Mariners go as Cal Raleigh goes, and their ceiling goes as Julio Rodriguez goes. They then go through a round of Which Is Better with a few different Mariners and Seahawks topics, along with a few other questions. In Blue 88, topics include the Seahawks defense, remaining NFL free agents and the best Pete Carroll speech that Bryan ever heard from him.
