Brock and Salk dive in on both Gregory Santos and Matt Brash as they count down their ten most intriguing Mariners ahead of Opening Day. Then, they bounce around to a variety of topics including Mitch Haniger's potential roster spot, Julio Rodriguez scratched from the lineup, the Steelers waiting for Aaron Rodgers, and the Bengals decision to extend their two star receivers to huge money and how that relates to the Seahawks.
Brock and Salk take a birds eye view and look at how strange the Seahawks offseason has been, but they like what the team has done so far. Salk is also still maddened by the Seahawks decisions to not invest in the offensive line, and he and Brock hash it out. In Blue 88, Brock dives in on JSN and Cooper Kupp existing in the same WR room, what he's hearing about Teven Jenkins and what stood out to him about their conversation with Sam Darnold.
The details of Sam Darnold's contract were reported this weekend, and Salk reacts to how team friendly the deal is for the Seahawks. Then, they re-air their conversation with the Seahawks new QB in Sam Darnold, where he talks about why he chose Seattle, his relationship with Klint Kubiak and plenty more.
In a late version of Blue 88, topics include what the personal issues were between John Schneider and DK Metcalf, where Sam Darnold will be compared the most versus Geno Smith and why John Schneider has been around some of the most late-in-career QB reclamation projects. Then, they bring on Gee Scott for his weekly appearance to get all of his thoughts on what has transpired with the Seahawks over the last week.
Brock and Salk go through some sound of Seahawks that made headlines yesterday, including Demarcus Lawrence in his interview with Hawkblogger in which he had some choice words for the Cowboys. Later, they welcome on new Seahawks QB Sam Darnold to talk to him about what drew him to Seattle, what he's excited about to be a Seahawk, his connection with Klint Kubiak and plenty more.
John Schneider spoke to the media yesterday with all of the Seahawks new acquisitions, along with parting from Geno Smith and DK Metcalf. Salk reatcs, and is pretty confused by what he heard. After that, they re-air their conversation with Tom Pelissero, who talks Sam Darnold, the Seahawks offseason moves so far and more.
Aaron Rodger is "holding the Steelers hostage" according to former NFL GM Doug Whaley. How have they gotten to this point? Then, we discuss whether the Seahawks should go after Cooper Kupp or not and why it's clear now that the Seahawks aren't rebuilding.
The hour starts with listening to listener voicemails for Here's The Thing. Later, Brock and Salk look over the Seahawks depth chart position by position and use that to determine where the Seahawks should use their NFL Draft picks, in which they have five in the Top 92 in this draft.
For all the talk about the interior offensive line, Brock and Salk discuss how the Seahawks have a chance to really put themselves over the top as a defensive unit, and the signing of Demarcus Lawrence signals that. In Blue 88, topics include a potential name on the offensive line that the Seahawks could acquire that hasn't been talked about at all yet, why Demarcus Lawrence is a great fit in Seattle and one thing the Seahawks have continuously got right with their players.
