The hour starts by listening to some hilarious listener voicemials for Here's The Thing. Then, Brock and Salk debate of three position groups (offensive line, defensive line, cornerback) which of each should the Seahawks sign, draft and trade if you can only pick one for each.
Brock and Salk discuss what a best case scenario looks like for the Mariners in 2025. Later, they have Keith Law of The Athletic on to have him break down his Top 100 prospects list, which features six Mariners and as a result ranks the Mariners as the No. 1 farm system in baseball. In Blue 88, topics include two things that stood out about ESPN's Top 50 free agents list regarding the Seahawks, what could be Tom Brady's biggest influence on Pete Carroll and a geno Smith stat that could grow in Klint Kubiak's system.
Salk takes the glass half full look on the Mariners and how they could string together a really good year, in spite of the inactivity this offseason. Then, they re-air their conversation with Jake Heaps to get his insight on who Klint Kubiak will be as an offensive coordinator.
Brock finishes up the list he started earlier in the show of the six reasons why Klint Kubiak was hired here. Then, we dicuss a new take from Bryan Walters on Russell Wilson's error on the final play of Super Bowl 49, and we break down one NFL analysts thought that the Raiders should check in on Geno Smith's availablity. Plus, Salk crowns a new winner for Trash Takes.
Brock has six reasons as to why he believes that Klint Kubiak was hired as the Seahawks new OC, and he outlines three of those reasons with Salk (with the latter three upcoming in the next hour). After that, they welcome on old friend Jake Heaps to get his insight on who Klint Kubiak is as a playcaller and why the Seahawks like what he brings to the table.
Brock and Salk wonder how Pete Carroll becoming the head coach of the Raiders could affect the Seahawks, both in terms of the people he'll try to hire along with personnel decisions. Later, they welcome on Brian Nemhauser (Hawkblogger) live from the Senior Bowl to get his insight on who has stood out to him from the event so far and who could be a fit for the Seahawks in the draft. In Blue 88, Brock takes a look at a potential NFL rule change for 2025, what stood out to him about what Jason Garrett said in their conversation with him and what one big change will be in the Seattle area this year for both college football fans and NFL fans.
Salk is still working to get Pete Carroll on the show at some point, and also reacts to his Twitter poll about how many Seattle fans say they are still rooting for him, which he is in full agreement with. Then, they re-air their conversation with former Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett, now of NBC Sports.
After last hour's discussion with Jason Garrett, we get into a discussion on art of finding the right coaches that will understand the situation and environment unique to your city. Then, we discuss seeing Pete Carroll introduced as a Raider and debate if Pete Carroll is one of the few that is beloved enough to end up elsewhere and be unanimously loved in Seattle still? Plus, in Lyle's Lessons, we discuss the movie Office Space.
Brock and Salk again react to the Mike Petriello article from MLB.com about just how difficult it is to hit at T-Mobile Park, and they wonder how it's effected the Mariners offseason. Later, they welcome on former Dallas Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett, now of NBC Sports.
Brock is back and has his own QB ratings system that he presents. Then, he breaks down with Salk who Klint Kubiak could be in year one and lays out some fair expectations for him. In Blue 88, topics include where Klint Kubiak and Ryan Grubb will be most different, what are the next potential moves for the Seahawks, and what stood out from Day 1 at the Senior Bowl.
