Salk brings on Brady Henderson to dive in on the good and the bad from the Seahawks win over the Patriots last week. They also discuss Mike Macdonald's comments about being "sick to his stomach" over allowing 180 rushing yards last week, and how everyone in the Seahawks building is now being held to a higher standard in 2024. As a result, the players are bought into it.
Salk starts the show by explaining why the Jets blowing out the Patriots on Thursday Night Football doesn't mean anything for the Seahawks and their own win against New England. He also gets inot Dan Wilson publicly sharing that Julio apologized to him for his baserunning mistake and why he wa shocked to see that, along with Mel Kiper styating that the NFL should ban the two-high safety look on defense.
Salk brings up how wild it is that 5 of the top 6 QB's in QBR right now are Derek Carr, Kyler Murray, Sam Darnold, Baker Mayfield and Geno Smith. Then, Brock and Salk break down the matchup with the Dolphins and Seahawks and we get Maura's Fantasy Football Forecast.
The hour starts with listening to your voicemails for Here's The Thing. Then, they bring Gee Scott on to talk life, the current Seahawks, and the upcoming NFL Hall of Fame ballot which includes Marshawn Lynch and Earl Thomas.
Brock and Salk spend more time talking about Julio getting picked off at third base and if it is really fair to put so much of the blame on him or not. They then welcome on Shannon Drayer to get her thoughts on the Julio play and where the Mariners now stand. In Blue 88, topics include Devon Witherspoon vs. Jalen Carter, Riq Woolen and Dolphins defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver.
The Mariners lost again yesterday and the highlight of the game was yet another jaw dropping play on the basepaths, this time made by Julio Rodriguez in extra innings. They later re-air their conversation with Trent Green of CBS as he breaks down the upcoming matchup for the Seahawks as they take on the Dolphins at home this weekend.
Brock breaks down the Huskies first Big Ten matchup since joining the conference in Washington Wednesday. Then, we discuss Trent Green's comments from the previous hour on new NFL coaches practicing coaching and we let Brock have it with Mean Tweets.
Salk can't bring himself to talk more Mariners after last night's loss, so he asks the show if they feel lucky or not, along with what their reasoning for those answers are. They then welcome on Trent Green of CBS Sports who will be broadcasting the Seahawks-Dolphins game this weekend to analyze the matchup and what he will be looking for from each side.
