The hour of Alex Rodriguez begins with Salk asking Brock and Justin for a little context before Alex Rodriguez himself joins the show to discuss Julio, coming up as a young superstar, mistakes from his past and much more.
Two weeks away from the MLB trade deadline and the rumors of Jazz Chisholm to the M's seem to be picking up some momentum, but are they real? And if they are real - is he a difference maker to the roster? Chris Egan from King5 joins the guys to discuss the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris before Brock's Blue 88.
The MLB All-Star HomeRun derby was last night and we get to celebrate all-time good guy and former Seattle Mariner Teoscar Hernandez for taking home the victory over Bobby Witt Jr before we revisit the conversation with Fox Broadcaster (and soon to be broadcast partner of Tom Brady).
We continue our look at the most intruguing Seahawks with a quarterback at number twenty. Then, we take your calls on whether the Mariners first half of the season was a success. Plus, Justin and Salk have a traditional sports Ranked!
Brock and Salk get into the WR conversation after hearing some sound from a Marc Ross (NFL Network) who made the point arguing against the idea of re-signing DK Metcalf and paying big money. The guys are joined by Fox broadcaster Kevin Burkhardt ahead of the All-Star Game.
The first half is officially over and the Mariners are still in first place of the AL West... but does that mean the first half was a successs? We take texts and debate both sides of the argument before Brock's Blue 88.
Everybody is pretty annoyed with the way the final series of the 2024 first half ended with 3 straight losses to the lowly Angels and Salk has a lot of feelings about the way it went. The Mariners drafted a switch-pitcher out of Mississippi State w/ the #15 pick and a traditional RHP out of high school in the 2024 MLB draft in the 2nd round. Maura takes us Around the Weekend.
Counting down the Top 25 Most Intriguing Seahawks - #21: Christian Haynes (G - UCONN). Fridays mean Open Phones for Seattle Sports fans to drive the show before we close out with RANKED: Heat.
Salk loved the ESPY's last night regardless of their many flaws and some silly awards, but took umbrage at the idea of presented by the Williams sisters regarding rivalries in sports. Conversation turns to the Mariners and Salk believes the M's should have lobbied for Julio to be in the HR derby, wants to know what's going on with Jorge Polanco. amd makes the case for both the Giants & Blue Jays to sell due to their low-ranked farm systems.
Every Mariners starter reached base vs the Angels but what the Mariners pitching has continued to do is incredible: allowing only 3 runs in the last 3 games (all of which came by HR) and have thrown back-to-back shutouts. Salk is joined by Toronto-native & MLB Network host Adnan Virk to discuss Vlad before Bumpus (in for Brock) joins the show for Blue 88.
