Brock & Salk discuss the seismic movement over the past decade of women's basketball with the biggest pieces being the last two seasons' worth of change, notably between Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark. The guys are joined by ESPN NFL Insider Field Yates to discuss the NFL draft which is now just 3 weeks away before Brock's Blue 88.
A random, cool, and kinda weird sports night with the Mariners game ft. Emerson Hancock's first start back in the rotation, NCAA women's basketball tournament rematches, and Shane Wright rejoining the Kraken in Seattle. Salk runs down a gamut of games and different sports stories.
Brock's Seahawks draft profile continues with Kansas State fullback/TE Ben Sinnott. Then, we know it's too early to draw any meaningful conclusions but we couldn't help but take a look at how some former Mariners are doing. Plus, Salk ranks the top 5 best and worst types of cries.
The guys discuss Julio's weekend of (finally) getting his first walk-off win and Salk seems really stuck on one part of the moment. Conversation about the NCAA mens & womens tournament gets Brock emotional while discussing Purdue. We are joined by Shannon Drayer to answer some M's questions and hear her weekend recap.
Salk adds to the column on SeattleSports.com about the "3 Questions" after the Mariners opening series: can the 4-6 pitchers get deep enough in games? And do they have a reliable pen after Munoz? Brock & Salk discuss the things I liked, didn’t like, and in between things through the first four games before Brock's Blue 88.
It only took four games for us to see a glimpse of what the Mariners can & can't be in 2024 between a surprising number of strikeouts, a couple dominant pitching performances, and a Julio walk-off win. Already concerned about Mitch Garver's injury history w/ recent back spasms? Maura takes us Around the Weekend of sports and catches us up on the NCAA tournaments.
A new mock draft has Michael Penix going to the Seahawks at pick 16. Is that a real possibility? Salks says he doesn't see it happening but if it does, he will be confident that John Schneider thinks they've found their quarterback of the future.
Salk's shares the step-by-step details of his quest for a Double MitchWich at the ballpark and gives his detailed (and surprising) review. Our weekly chat with Gee Scott takes a deep dive into the emotion inside a baseball game, why Maura's the best in a group chat, and an Opening Day nostalgic tip for parents.
Salk didn't see anything last night that made him feel better or worse about this team but we did see a lot of things that we discussed leading up to this and are joined by Shannon Drayer to break down what she saw. Michael Bumpus Jr (in for Brock) for Blue 88.
Like a flash - Opening Day was here and gone, and the M's fall to the Red Sox 6-4 and Salk outlines some of the things that immediately stood out as weaknesses he was expecting, but not to see so soon. Haniger's big return and Nelson Cruz led the excitement. Micahel Penix Jr had a pretty nice pro day on Montlake and we revisit the conversation with Boomstick himself.
