Salk describes what jumped out during the Mariners fantastic road trip and highlights how important it is each year to have unexpected players take a big jump, which is currently happening with Cole Young and Emerson Hancock. Later, Brady Henderson of ESPN joins ther show to discuss Dante Fowler, what to watch in minicamp and much more.
Salk reacts to some sound of both Cole Young and the Twins broadcast saying that his go-ahead hit in the 9th inning was lucky, and Salk disagrees. So he explains why. Then, they re-air their conversations with both TCU head coach Sonny Dykes and Mariners starting pitcher Emerson Hancock.
Salk crowns a new Trash Takes winner. Then, we discuss the M's win over the Twins last night, Brendan Donovan being eligible to return during the M's homestand, Daniel Jeremiah's reaction to the Seahawks draft, and the Steelers placing the UFA tag on Aaron Rodgers in Need to Know. We wrap up early from there to make way for Mariners pre-game.
Salk hosts Blue 88 today, with topics including Russell Wilson potentially to the Jets, could Mike Tomlin replace Mike Vrabel and which Seahawks rookie he is most looking forward to seeing at minicamp. Later, Adam Jude of The Seattle Times joins the show to share his insight on the Mariners win over the Twins, Cole Young, Luis Castillo and more.
Salk couldn't help but notice the massive differences in what the Mariners look like in wins versus losses, and highlights a few players that jumped out in the win over the Twins. Then, TCU head coach Sonny Dykes joins the show to give Seahawks fans more insight to who Bud Clark is and who the Seahawks are getting with him. Finally, Mariners pitcher Emerson Hancock joins to describe some of the changes he's made to his arsenal, what has worked well for him early on in the season and more.
The Mariners put together a quality all-around win over the Twins and Salk reads some late night Mariners texts to start the show. Then, they re-air their conversation with Daniel Jeremiah who breaks down several of the Seahawks draft picks, how they will impact the team and how their draft graded out in his opinion.
We play a little Buy or Sell with Bryan Walters covering topics like Jadarian Price's yardage this season, Colt Emerson's call up date and whether Brock Huard is doing wall sits at the Vatican. Then, Brian Nemhauser joins us to discuss his reaction to the Seahawks draft, what they still need to add and his what his new draft consenus tool tells him about the Seahawks approach changing.
Salk and Bryan Walters react to sound from Sam Darnold, who was on the San Clemente Podcast, in which he elaborates on the Seahawks team culture and why it is so unique, specifically with the walk and talks between players. Later, Daniel Jeremiah joins the show to help evaluate the Seahawks draft, share which players could have an immediate impact and plenty more.
