Bronte & Lakey for Breakfast

It’s something everyone dreads when boarding a plane but turbulence is a normal part of flying. Although some routes are expected to have more turbulence than others. Bianca, Ben and Lakey have found a recent study with Turbi that have a website designed to track flight turbulence and has created the top 10 most bumpy flights in the Oceania region.

Number 1 on the list is the Sydney to Gold Coast route with only a small distance of 750km. Listen to the rest of the top 10 here:

Three weeks ago Ben’s miracle niece was born, she was born with a rare condition called Edwards Syndrome (Trisomy 18) which is a genetic disorder that causes severe development delays due to an extra chromosome 18. Ben explains she has been in the hospital her whole life (the last 3 weeks) and unfortunately at the end of last week she got her angel wings and lost her life.  

“1 in 2000 kids with this condition don’t live past birth, we were blessed to have her in our lives for 3 weeks”

Ben doesn’t want this to be a sad story, he wants to give a very big shoutout to the staff at the Gold Coast University hospital “the love and care and support they showed is second to none”.

Last night was the opening night for the FIFA Women’s World Cup and Australia got the win 1-0 against Ireland with a phenomenal start for the Tilly’s. Bianca, Ben and Lakey are joined by Matilda player Emily Gielnik who is still on a high but more importantly so proud to have nearly 76,000 people in attendance “that was something astronomical”.

Emily was a spectator in last night’s game as she is recovering from a calf injury however she says “being a spectator was just a totally different point of view, so it was a very interesting opportunity for me, but I enjoyed it and I embraced it and I am just so happy for the girls”.

Recently Disney Plus released a documentary of the Matildas called ‘Matildas The World At Our Feet’ and Emily opens up in the documentary about her sexuality and how she was “lying” to her friends and family for 10 years. Emily says, “I did it as a message to anyone else out there who is kind of struggling with that kind of not identity crisis but just being open and vulnerable and just accepting who they are”.
