Janet Phan is the author of the forthcoming book Boldly You, and  is the founder of Thriving Elements, a nonprofit that matches underrepresented girls to STEM mentors. Janet has an engaging personal backstory about growing up first-generation in the US and the challenges of having ambitions that didn’t match her family’s cultural expectations. Janet  shares her experience growing a network of mentors and carving her own path through high school, college and a career in tech, along with actionable advice about how you can do the same.
