Genetic modified organisms or GMOs have transformed the entire food industry and global health on a massive scale. And with the recent advent of CRISPR technologies and more complex genetic engineering methods, the new landscape of GMO 2.0 has arrived. Although they are a testament to our scientific progress, they could be doing more harm than good to our bodies. Corinna Bellizzi sits down with global thought leader and author Jeffrey Smith, who presents the dangers of GMOs and genetic engineering. He explains how agrochemical/agricultural biotechnology corporation Monsanto continues to find legal loopholes to integrate toxic chemicals into their food products. Jeffrey also talks about the difference between hybridized and GMOs, why microbes are the hardest species to genetically engineer, and how eating organic food delivers way more benefits than you could imagine.
About Jeffrey Smith:
As a global thought leader on the health dangers of genetically modified organisms (GMOs) for over 27 years, Jeffrey Smith has authored 2 bestsellers, directed 5 documentaries, delivered 2,000 lectures and interviews in 45 countries, trained 1,500 speakers, and organized more than 10,000 grassroots advocates. Jeffrey has counseled world leaders on six continents, and his meticulous research presented at medical conferences inspired thousands to prescribe non-GMO and organic diets. The success of the GMO education movement he pioneered is measured in part by the 48% of world consumers who acknowledge GMOs are unhealthy. Taking on GMO 2.0 Jeffrey and IRT are now sounding the alarm about new genetic engineering techniques, such as gene editing. Unregulated, GMO 2.0 can cause health and environmental disasters. The most urgent danger comes from genetically engineered microbes. Jeffrey is stewarding a global effort to prevent their release.

Trauma, stress, and addiction are problems deeply embedded in a person’s identity and cannot be eliminated on a whim. Instead of drowning yourself in medication that could be making your body even worse, hypnosis is one effective way to redefine and rebuild yourself. Corinna Bellizzi talks with Dr. David Spiegel, who uses hypnotherapy to help people tap into the power of the mind to overcome their most traumatic moments and lowest points in life. He explains how this technique can help develop better eating habits and a much healthier lifestyle free of vices. Dr. David also presents how they make self-hypnosis even more accessible in this digital age through Reveri’s mobile application.

Young people are glued to their screens almost every single minute of the day, checking out their friends’ posts on Instagram and watching endless videos on YouTube. Social media addiction severely damages the lifestyle of teens and children. There is only one antidote to this: bringing them outside to commune with nature. Sitting down with Corinna Bellizzi is Emanuel Rose, who uses storytelling to encourage kids to leave their phones and enjoy the outdoors. He talks about his books that teach children to appreciate nature and be more mindful of how natural resources are utilized. Emanuel also talks about the benefits of nature bathing, listening to nature’s vibration, and regular exploration of the wilderness.

Emanuel Rose, an author, outdoorsman, and marketing expert, merges a love for nature with a thriving career. With 30+ years in branding, advertising, and digital agency leadership at Strategic eMarketing, he's an industry trailblazer. Those of you who have been following our social media over the course of the last few weeks, or who subscribe to our newsletter have heard about the Soil & Health Forum hosted at Tara Firma Farms in Petaluma on September 16, 2023. It was an incredible gathering of like-minded individuals who are pushing for real change. Each person in attendance was and is dedicated to soil and to health. We felt the quiet prayers of Wendy Johnson who led the opening ceremonies, and even tasted the life-giving force of apples grown on the farm as the day began.
Enjoy two sessions from the many offered that day, in this week's audio only presentation. You'll hear from Starhawk on Permaculture and from Brock Dolman on California Watershed issues and progress.
For those that are interested in reviewing the complete video presentations from the day, please visit: https://soilandhealthforum.org. There you can review 2022 video presenations, and should soon be able to access the curriculum from this weekend's event, including the presentation that Corinna Bellizzi led with Beth Craig, former guest on Care More Be Better.
Stay tuned in future weeks for additional content from the forum, and possibly interviews from the presenters, hopefully including Starhawk and Brock Dolman.

Corinna Bellizzi digs deep into the many problems caused by farmed salmon with investigative journalist and author Simen Sætre. Together, they explain why wild salmon is drastically declining and how it affects the entire fishing community. Simen also explains why farmed salmon is considered unhealthy and a huge risk to the environment when mixed with wild fishes.

Adapting a fully organic diet and lifestyle requires a huge amount of effort and dedication. Mollie Engelhart responds to the call for healthier living by focusing on regenerative farming. Joining Corrina Bellizi, she talks about her work as a farm-to-table farmer who promotes organic diet by adopting a closed food loop and getting rid of the use of fertilizers. She explains the benefits of vertical farming technology, how to be mindful of excess food, and why our health is directly connected with healthy soils. Mollie also talks about how to become regenerative beyond farming and even into community-building approaches, food production, and our daily routines.
About Guest:
Mollie, a mother of four, is one of California's foremost advocates for regenerative farming.
She uses sustainable practices on her three regenerative farms, two of which are located in California and the other in Texas. They supply fresh and organic produce to many residents as well as her four restaurants and brewery, including Sage Vegan Bistro, which is co-owned by famous actor and activist Woody Harrelson.
Mollie started Sow a Heart Farm in 2018, which has become known for its exemplary regenerative practices and inspirational volunteer opportunities. The farm now delivers pesticide-free CSA produce boxes throughout the Greater Los Angeles area, and it also facilitates a sustainable food and compost loop with Mollie’s renowned restaurants.
Mollie sits on the board of Kiss the Ground, the foremost soil and regenerative agriculture nonprofit that raises awareness through storytelling, education, and advocacy—it has large followings on both Instagram and Facebook. The foundation produced the film Kiss the Ground to show the potential of stabilizing Earth’s ecosystems through regenerative practices.
Mollie is dedicated to living and sharing a natural and practical earth-minded lifestyle. From her regenerative farms and restaurants to her deep concern for healthy eating and holistic family life (she delivered four home births), Mollie is showing a way forward for Americans.

ERA-co is a global place brand that aims to bridge the gap between the making of buildings and the ecosystem itself. In this special series, Steven joins Corinna Bellizzi to talk more about building regenerative cities and living spaces. He dives deep into what being a global place brand is and the work they are doing to provide better places to live and better outcomes for the planet. What is more, Steven discusses the current challenges of finding affordable housing, having a regionalized food system, and regenerative farming. He also talks about the importance of both systemic and cultural change and the value of community building. Tune in to gain a different perspective on creating sustainable cities and food.
