On this week’s episode a beautiful young lady sits before me, she is full of nerves , she tells me she doesn’t know what to say and doesn’t understand why you the listener would be interested in her story.
I have no words for Chantelle’s strength, at just 24 years of age she is a mother of two and a guardian of 4. We chat through losing her dad to prison at 3 months and losing him again to cancer at 10. We discuss the years of abuse she suffered at the hands of bullies who tried to tear her apart with mental torture and verbal attacks.
But Chantelle wasn’t alone in her journey, with 3 woman behind her , Maureen, her nanny and her mother Kelly, a woman who she describes as hearing her before seeing her, A woman who touched every person she met.
These woman got her through those terrible times, but then tragedy struck for the third time, Kelly her mother was diagnosed with terminal cancer and at the age of 40 died leaving 4 children behind.
This is a story of how a community rallies and a young girl who day by day is trying to fulfil her mother’s dying wishes.
This was the most difficult to date there was lots of tears and lots of pauses, her story to so raw but truly inspirational and needs to be heard. We hope you enjoy it.
