For a few weeks in March, Eli escaped the UK to visit his family in Florida and Paul thought it would be a great idea to give him a portable recording device. You know, so Eli could record his adventures in America. Turns out it was a terrible idea. Rather than record his thoughts and observations, he decided to record barely audible interactions with his family over the course of 2 rowdy days. Paul is not impressed. This week, find out what happens when The Family Silverman taste test some American junk food whilst drinking to excess, all the while Paul fumes in response to each pointless recording. In between the segments, there are some stories to tell and cheap eats to suffer through, particularly Eli’s obsession with sausages and packets of Takis. To say Paul isn’t impressed is putting it lightly.

In a time-hopping edition of CheapShow, Paul is hopping backwards and forwards in time to challenge both Eli and Mr Biffo to a game of The Price of Shite. Why? Well… With Eli still in America, Paul has to record an episode of the podcast with someone, and luckily Mr Biffo was available to guess the cost of the charity shop tat. However, Paul realises that he can hop forward a week and task a returning Eli to the exact same game. As Paul bounces back and forth, Eli and Biffo go head-to-head to see who will reign supreme. Along the way they’ll talk mutant trains, monkey cruelty, pepper holes, unusual smells, and old toys. All Paul needs to do is hand out the P’twings. Hopefully he can at least manage that.

After the meltdown of last week’s episode, Eli still harbours a grudge and wants his damned 7 p’twings. Paul, however, has no interest in giving them, and worse, he seems to not want to play ball all episode. To make things much worse, there are men at work outside the House of Sausage & Mash and it’s causing quite the distraction. Luckily, there are lots of snacks to eat and records to listen to, which should keep both the cheap chaps busy. When it comes to potato crisps, Paul and Eli may have found something actually quite nice to nosh on, which makes a very nice change. When it comes to Silverman’s Platter, a daft novelty record sends them on a deep dive into conspiracy thinking, assassinations and the world’s most famous screen. Sadly, it’s derailed by Paul’s irrational hatred of Cilla Black and the reveal of his “mutton mouth”, whatever THAT is! Join us!

After the last few weeks of hardcore retro TV nostalgia, Paul and Eli are back to doing what they do best… Whatever that is! This week, Eli was promised snacks and noodles, and this is exactly what he is getting. There are unusual snacks to enjoy, odd drinks to try and not throw up whilst drinking and a trilogy of cup noodles to slurp down. Eli is over the moon. Paul, as ever, not so much! He does not care for the snacks, can’t keep the drinks down and all he wants to do is crack wise and create another batch of horrible new characters. This episode doesn’t quite come off the rails, but Paul tries his best to derail Eli’s excitement… Which isn’t that hard considering the repercussions from Eli’s confession last week! Last Week Paul and Eli pulled apart what made Tiswas and Swap Shop work, and this week it’s part two of their Saturday Morning Showdown! The 2nd generation of kid’s breakfast TV shows were Number 73 on the ITV regions and Saturday Superstore from the BBC. Both are very different to each other, and in some respects, from the trailblazing programmes that came before them. The question is, “Which is the ULTIMATE show?” Will nostalgia cloud our opinions or has distance made us more critical? Which one has Sarah Greene in? That will probably be the best one. Ahem. The Cheap Chaps have amassed another collection of clips to review as well as some of the purchasable merchandise that came with the shows at the time of broadcast! You can expect tie-in books, novelty songs and even something lovely to pin to your lapel! At the end of the day, only one of these shows can be crowned Overlord of Saturday Morning and Paul and Eli have a lot to think about in this proper chunky edition of the economy comedy podcast. They also have a LOT of angry opinions on Mike Reid, Paul reveals his childhood crushes and Eli reveals WAY too much about his local swimming pool antics! It’s a shocker! Somewhere in between the mucky talk, weird asides and bitter rants, there is an actual podcast in here! Sometimes…

For kids of the 1970s through to the late 90s, Saturdays were defined by their morning children’s TV programming. Whether it was BBC or ITV, you could expect 3 hours of cartoons, interviews, games, prizes, sketches and all kinds of edutainment. This week on CheapShow, Paul & Eli decide to find out which of the early, classic shows was the best. After scouring charity shops and auction sites, the Cheap Chaps have collated a collection of Saturday Morning TV tat, from books to novelty records! Based on the quality of this merchandise, they’ll decide which show reigns supreme. However, there is a problem… There is TOO much to talk about and investigate, so they’ve decided to split this quest into two parts. In Part One, Paul & Eli will look at the pioneers of those early broadcasts, Tiswas (from ITV) and Swap Shop (from the BBC) and see what they had to offer. As they will find out, there are surprises in store, quaint old practices to admire, weird stories to gawp at and dull tales to tolerate from a young Noel Edmonds. It’s a show packed with nostalgia, stupidity, and the usual upsetting and vulgar tangents.

It’s a question that’s often been asked in CheapShow’s 6 years of existence, “Who is more stupid, Paul or Eli”? This week the answer can finally be revealed because that answer is “Both of them.
