Kyle Hogarth, MD, FCCP, in review Dr. Lougheed et al's article in this month's issue, relating the tracking of Flock Worker's Lung, from initial reports of a cluster of interstial lung disease cases among textile workers in Ontario in the early 1990s, to the discovery of additional similar clusters, on to the recognition of it as a specific occupational disease attributable to inhalation of flocked nylon fragments. Dr. Lougheed's group compared and analyzed changes among the same group of employees from 1991 to 2011 to create a profile of longitudinal lung function changes over this period.
