Who knows the power of God's anger?. The answer is: Jesus does. He bore it fully on the cross. From the sixth hour there was darkness, and He cried'My God, My God, why have you forsaken Me?'. All we like sheep had gone astray, and the Lord laid on Him the iniquity of us all.

to Jesus the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel. — Hebrews 12:24

The blood of Jesus speaks a better word than the blood of Abel. Abel's blood cried out for vengeance from the ground; Christ's blood cries out for mercy. Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. He was slain from the foundation of the world, and His one offering has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified. Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.

When you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you rest, your sleep will be sweet. — Proverbs 3:24

When you lie down, you won't be afraid; your sleep will be sweet. That's the promise of peace that passes understanding. Jesus slept in the storm-tossed boat while others panicked. Don't be anxious about anything — present your requests to God with thanksgiving, and the peace of God will guard your hearts and minds. In peace, I will both lie down and sleep, for You alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety.

Who is the man who fears the LORD? He will instruct him in the path chosen for him. — Psalm 25:12

What man fears the Lord? He'll teach him in the way he should choose. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and God guides those who revere Him. If your eye is healthy, your whole body will be full of light. His word is a lamp to your feet and a light to your path.

Light shines on the righteous, gladness on the upright in heart. — Psalm 97:11

Light is sown for the righteous, and gladness for the upright in heart. Notice it's sown — like seed buried in the ground, waiting to spring up. Those who sow in tears will reap with shouts of joy. What you sow doesn't come to life unless it dies. You've been born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, and though now you're grieved by various trials, the tested genuineness of your faith results in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

And you shall keep My statutes and practice them. I am the LORD who sanctifies you. — Leviticus 20:8

I am the Lord who sanctifies you'. Sanctification is His work before it's ours. He has set us apart, chosen us to be a people for His own possession. To those who are called, beloved in God the Father, and kept for Jesus Christ. Sanctify them in the truth; Your word is truth.

do not harden your hearts, as you did in the rebellion, in the day of testing in the wilderness, — Hebrews 3:8

The day of temptation in the wilderness — that's where Israel failed, and that's where Christ succeeded. Each person is tempted when drawn away by his own desire. Israel lusted in the wilderness and put God to the test. But Jesus, full of the Spirit, was led into the wilderness and overcame every temptation. Because He Himself suffered when tempted, He's able to help those who are being tempted.

After the anguish of His soul, He will see the light of life and be satisfied. By His knowledge My righteous Servant will justify many, and He will bear their iniquities. — Isaiah 53:11

He shall see the travail of His soul and be satisfied. Think about that: the suffering of the cross satisfied the Son of God. When Christ said'It is finished', He meant it — the debt was fully paid. God made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. We were formed to declare His praise, but that's not all.

For the day of vengeance was in My heart, and the year of My redemption had come. — Isaiah 63:4

The year of my redeemed is come'. That's the Jubilee — the year of liberty proclaimed throughout the land. Your dead shall live; their bodies shall rise. The Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, and the dead in Christ will rise first. O death, where is your victory?

For the LORD gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding. — Proverbs 2:6

The Lord gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding. True wisdom doesn't start with us. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. If any lacks wisdom, let him ask God who gives generously. The foolishness of God is wiser than men, and God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise.
