I couldn’t believe it. My mom and dad got divorced. I was left feeling even more confused than before. At the same time, I felt a sense of relief because the constant battles were over, but I also felt empty. It was like being abandoned by a parent who’s still alive because of things that just happened. I felt powerless, and everything seemed out of my control. Going to my dad’s house felt really good, but when it was time to go back to mom’s house, I felt an unsettling, often nauseous sensation in my stomach, like butterflies but more intense and persistent

Emotional Comfortwear (ECW) is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization focused on

mental health, based in Michigan with plans for nationwide expansion. Founded by Edison

Konan on August 21, 2021, ECW was born out of personal tragedy and a profound need for

accessible mental health support. Edison, originally from the Ivory Coast in West Africa,

experienced firsthand the stigma surrounding mental health in his culture. This inspired him to

create ECW after witnessing his sister's struggle with self-harm and an eating disorder.

Mission: To make various types of therapy accessible to everyone, improving mental and

physical well-being and fostering a caring and welcoming community.
