  • Indie Comics Spotlight: Paradox Girl
Each week on Indie Comic Spotlight Tony Farina of DC Comics News will be joined by other comic aficionados to do a deep dive into a series or standalone graphic novel from any publisher other than the big two.
This week, Tony is joined by the hosts of Recorded Tomorrow Jonathan Liu and Jesse Ferguson.
The book we are covering this week is Top Cow’s Paradox Girl Written by Cayti Elle Bourquin with art from Yishan Li. In 2016, Cayti and Yishan with some help from Hanako games launched a Kickstarter to get Paradox Girl off the ground. I was sadly not one of the supporters as I missed that launch. The good news was they met their goals and PG was eventually picked up by Top Cow, a division of Image Comics in May of 2019 when the first six issues were released.
PG is a woman out of time and space. She lives in Cityoplis, works with Axiom Man and has a love for an outdated banana flavored waffle, Waffos.

For the best listening, ensure you’ve seen The Force Awakens & The Last Jedi, and while seeing The Rise Of Skywalker is suggested, it is not essential and there will be no spoilers for it within – this comic series takes place around 6 years before the events of Episode VII: The Force Awakens; so as TFA is 34 ABY, this comic mini-series is around 28 ABY (flashbacks between 18-25 ABY).

  • Mandatory Marvel & DC Ep2: Kingdom Come Review
It is time for episode 2 of Mandatory Marvel & DC, a brand new show for the Comics In Motion network that looks back at the very biggest and best stories from the annals of the Big 2 - Marvel and DC!
Each episode, Max Byrne will be joined by a special guest to enjoy a chat about that week's subject matter, talking about what we love about these top tier titles!
For this second instalment, we look back at the masterpiece Elseworld classic that is Kingdom Come. Released as a four part mini-series in 1996, this seminal work by Mark Waid and Alex Ross took the big hitters of the DC universe and put them into a dystopian future where the old guard of heroes have withdrawn into the shadows and have been replaced by a new generation that do not share the moral virtues of their predecessors. With the world at a tipping point, the race towards armageddon has begun...
This week, Max is joined by the amazing Dave Horrocks for a fun chat all about this masterpiece comic book title.
If you want to get in touch with Max about comics or to suggest any future shows, please say to him on Twitter @maxybyrne. • Star Wars: Comics In Canon - Ep 0: Hello There!

Hello there and welcome to Star Wars Comics In Canon; your guide to the wider Star Wars canon through the comic-book lens! I’m your host Mike Burton - you may know me from the Genuine Chit-Chat podcast and for being the one with the abundance of Star Wars facts in the collaboration between Comics In Motion, 20th Century Geek & Genuine Chit-Chat in the journey to the Rise Of Skywalker! This release is just to outline what you can expect from these Saturday-slotted episodes on Comics In Motion’s fine feed – it’s for all Star Wars fans; younglings & veterans alike! Whether you’ve consumed all the content (I’d be impressed if you have) or are just a film newbie getting into a galaxy far far away, I’m sure you’ll enjoy this look into the wider Star Wars canon!

Essentially, I’ll be doing an episode each week about a character, an event, a series of comics or something similar, talking about which comics are worth checking out, general plot points from them as well as some trivia and news – this show is recommended for those who have seen all 9 episodes of Star Wars as well as Solo & Rogue One. If you’ve seen Clone Wars & Rebels too, that helps but is definitely not a requirement.

In this episode I also explain what Canon & Legends means in Star Wars, what the calendar regarding the battle of Yavin (BBY/ABY) means, a timeline of all current movies & series, a brief overview of what The High Republic era is, as well as giving a general overview on the comics/episodes to come.

The first “proper” episode will be releasing shortly and I am more than happy to take any & all criticism or notes to ensure this is the best podcast it can be, so if you have any questions, pointers or just fancy a chat, send me an email at [email protected]!

I am the host of a podcast called Genuine Chit-Chat where I speak with a different guest each week about a wide array of topics where no subject is off limits – GCC can be listened to in the same place you’re listening to this show, so there’s not excuse not to check it out!

Chris & Dave were on episodes 63 & 75 of GCC and Mike was on episodes 75 & 100 of Comics In Motion! Find Mike @GenuineChitChat on Twitter, @Genuine_ChitChat on Instagram and /GenuineChitChat on Facebook!

  • Indie Comics Spotlight: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Each week on Indie Comic Spotlight Tony Farina of DC Comics News will be joined by other comic aficionados to do a deep dive into a series or standalone graphic novel from any publisher other than the big two.
Today, Tony is joined by DC Comics News and Dark Knight News owner Damian Fasciani.
Damian explains that he is “the proud owner and Managing Director of leading fan sites, DC Comics News and Dark Knight News. Our staff make us truely great! A technologist at heart who works out every day, has a huge amount of Spotify playlists, loves Aussie Rules Football, and have a lot of Batman shirts! Yes, I love the Batman and Green Arrow. My Children are my world! Love them with everything I have.”
On this week’s show we cover the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Eastman and Laird's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is an American comic book by Mirage Studios released at the New Hampshire comic con1984. Originally conceived by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird as a one-off parody, the comic's popularity has gone on to inspire a major pop culture franchise, including television series, five feature films, numerous video games and a wide range of toys and merchandise. The Turtles have moved from Mirage to Image, back to Mirage and now find a home at IDW. We are breaking protocol a bit this week because Damian is such a DC super fan. Because this is an indie show, the thing that made the most sense was to invite him on for a cross over so this week we spend a lot of time talking about the first TMNT/Batman crossover.
If you want to talk with Tony about comics or to suggest any future shows, please connect with him on Twitter @Tricycleboombox. You can read his reviews of multiple Independent and DC comics at DC Comics News. You can find him online and send him messages at https://www.arfarina.com/

  • Indie Comics Spotlight: Dredd (2000AD)
Each week on Indie Comic Spotlight Tony Farina of DC Comics News will be joined by other comic aficionados to do a deep dive into a series or standalone graphic novel from any publisher other than the big two.
Today, Tony is joined by Scott Weatherly to break down the first appearance of and the first few major story arcs of of Judge Dredd.
Dredd was created by Carlos Ezquerra and John Wagner. Dredd is a street judge in Mega City One. Judge Dredd is the flagship title in the 2000AD anthology, first appearing in its second issue in 1977. The year is 2099 at that time, and Dredd is already a hardened street Judge of many years. Dredd faced countless strange menaces at that time, including a robot uprising. A notable early case was The Return of Rico, where Dredd's disgraced dirty Judge clone brother Rico Dredd comes back to frame him. Then we have the first Dredd mega epic, The Cursed Earth, which ran for 25 weeks. Dredd treks across The Cursed Earth that is America, facing numerous mad foes to bring an antidote to Mega-City Two on the West Coast
