  • Guided Meditation • Inner Sanctum

It is highly recommended you listen to this meditation with headphones.

This is a Guided Meditation that takes you on a journey into your Inner Sanctum. Your Inner Sanctum is a place deep inside your mind, a place of great peace and potential located in your unconscious mind. Enthusiasts of Carl Jung will notice this meditation is very similar to the process of active imagination that Jung often writes about.

This meditation is not aligned with any particular tradition or religion. It can be practiced by anyone. This guided meditation is not hypnosis, it maintains your conscious awareness while guiding you into a deep inner place from which you can perform inner work and exploration. This result is achieved through breathing work, visualization, and sound design.

  • 14: Why Humans Need Art

Why do humans need art? Hidden within the answer to that question is a profound truth about the human experience. Join me as we travel around the world to narrow down three primary reasons why humans need art.

In our quest for the answer we will explore Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel, the Game of Thrones TV show, the poetry of Emily Dickinson, Carl Jung's art therapy methods, Mozart's Requiem, and the visionary art of Alex Gray. Get your thinking caps on, this one's a bonafide deep dive.

  • Guided Meditation • Jung's Digging Method

In 1913, Carl Gustav Jung devised a meditation method that allowed him to reach his imaginative unconscious, experiencing waking 'visions' that led to his most enigmatic work: The Red Book.

I have tracked down his descriptions of this method through his later lectures, and have created an approximation of what Jung was doing. Included here is a guided meditation episode for your exploration of your own imaginative unconscious.

Please follow all the steps accordingly! (DO NOT operate any machinery / vehicles while exploring this method. And consult with your therapist if you have a history of schizophrenia or psychotic disorder.) I would love to hear about your experiences when you try it! Feel free to contact me directly on Instagram: @mjdorian or through my email: [email protected]

  • Creativity Tip 7: Embrace Your Failure

Our view of failure is all wrong. It is not something to be ashamed of, it is something to embrace and learn from.

Learning is the consolation prize of failure, which allows you to succeed the next time around.

  • 11: Carl Jung • The Red Book (Part 1)

On this episode we dive into one of the strangest and most enigmatic books ever written: The Red Book. This is a book so infamous that it was kept locked away for fifty years after Carl Jung's death, raising concerns that it might prove that the world renowned psychologist was actually insane. Is it a work of visionary creativity or divine madness? Let's find out.

  • Guided Meditation: Hypnagogic State

In this mini-episode we will be exploring. . . your brain! I will guide you in bringing your body to a sleeping state, while your conscious mind is still awake and in control. This will allow you to explore a very special and unique point between waking & dreaming, which psychologists call the Hypnagogic State.

We recently explored this idea in the Salvador Dali episode (Episode 7). And now you can try it out yourself!

Caution: DO NOT attempt this meditation while driving or operating any machine, as the meditation requires you to close your eyes and will induce a state on the threshold of sleep.
