In this episode of Crime with Holly, Holly speaks with Jenn Buta, mother of Jordan DeMay, a 17-year-old who tragically took his life on March 25, 2022, after being targeted in a financial sextortion scheme.

This crime is rapidly growing, the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children received over 26,000 reports in 2023, with most victims being teen boys between 14 and 17 years old. But girls are also targeted, and no child is immune.

Jenn shares Jordan’s story to raise awareness, highlight the dangers, and encourage families to have open, honest conversations with their teens. You’ll also hear about the Jordan DeMay #IGotYou Foundation and how his legacy is helping others.

From birth the cards were stacked against Tina but she fought hard to overcome all the hurdles and obstacles that she faced.  But after the loss of her father at just 12-years-old her life started on a downward spiral.  Tina was failed her entire life by the system in Canada and many interventions could've been done to save her.

In August 2014, 15-year-old Tina's body would be pulled from the Red River.  Someone would be arrested of her murder, but then found not guilty.

In March 2014, eight-year-old Relisha Rudd vanished without a trace from a homeless shelter in Washington, D.C. She was living with her mother and siblings at the former D.C. General Hospital shelter when she formed a bond with Kahlil Malik Tatum, a janitor at the facility with a criminal past. Surveillance footage shows Relisha walking with Tatum in a local hotel hallway on March 1, 2014, this was the last confirmed sighting of her alive.

Samantha Josephson was a beautiful 21-year-old University of South Carolina student who was weeks away from graduating.  She had just been accepted into Drexel University School of Law and went out to celebrate with friends on March 28th, 2019.  After a few hours out Samantha ordered herself an Uber to go home but she never made it.
