One thing they said that stood out to me was the future earnings of the S&P even the most bullish ones indicates a 5% growth. So they were questioning whether the market was discounting anything, but it seems why would you take a risk on the S&P vs. just getting 5% on a virtual risk free treasury bond?

Their revenue *last quarter* was just $7.2 billion. 

So this company almost doubled in size…in 90 days’ time.

$ANET - a way sexier $CSCO and they are needed for AI - so no matter who the chip company is - this is the infrastructure to own. It’s expensive and it’s a trade right now - not an investment. 

$tol - seriously best quarter ever … contracts up 77% year over year …. Raised guidance and everything is going incredibly well … avg price was $1.6 million for a house - that’s just nuts 

$vfs has huge pops - key supplier within ev market is setting up in Vietnam - it’s crazy with big jumps because the float is low - they are building a plant in nc with expected deliveries in 2025

$DKS - earnings were good - but shrinkage or theft is HUGE and they had a major write off - they said it will get worse before it gets better.  It’s down 20% on that report

$M - good solid earnings - popped initially but same store was down 5%. I like e-commerce on $M - try it. With their stores they make it VERY simple for older folks and younger folks who like a mix of e-commerce with a location to take things back or exchange. One of the best. 

$NVDA - I think it’s going to $500 on earnings. The analysts are taking up the price targets before tomorrow’s earnings based on their sales. Remember - $SMCI will pop on it too. You could play $NVDL as well if you’re a short term trader with belief 

$ZM - they beat their earnings CRAZY - they are saying big business is still signing up. Their new products and services offered (phone - cloud PBX system) which has grown and other solutions that are keeping people signed up

$LOW - good earnings - might have more opportunity than $HD - I’m just not a big believer in either - $HD is more professional and $LOW is more consumer 

This is an interesting problem that may be popping up in the banking sector. Specially $SCHW - which I think has pullback written all over it.

On Thursday, the DOW closed below the 50-day moving average for the first time since June 1 — which is a bearish signal for investors. The 30-stock index tumbled 290.91 points, or 0.84%. Meanwhile, the S&P declined 0.77%, and the Nasdaq slid 1.17%.

The 10 year US Treasury yield on Thursday rose to its highest level since October 2022. The move came after the July meeting minutes from the Federal Reserve suggested further interest rate hikes could be ahead as central bank policymakers remain concerned about inflation.

“Rates are not going higher for the right reasons in my opinion “This is now a confluence of events going on globally. We’re at levels we haven’t seen in quite some time.”

“If yields continue to move like they’re moving, there’s going to be some ramifications for global equity markets,” 

Higher for longer is what’s pulling the stock market down. The earnings results are better than expected and many companies are beating - but even that is not being able to push the market higher.

But why not to get out of the market 

If you invested $10,000 in the S&P 500 in Jan 2003, It would have grown to $64,844 by Dec 2022 (+548% return)

If you missed the best 10 days during the 20 year period , your returns would only be +197% ( 55% lower) . 7 out of those best 10 days occurred during bear markets. 

If you missed the best 40 days during the same period , you would have a lost money.

Time in the markets is more important than trying to time the markets.

$csco beat and the initial reaction was they were down …. Once they started their call they were up - so their guidance was def conservative - cheapest mega cap tech - it’s run - if they are sandbagging next year - this is a really cheap stock 

$fbl - 1.5 times $META daily along with others - I like $META going back to $350 and will add more under $300

$AAPL is going back to $200 - $AAPB may be a way to play that

$NVDA - I think this goes to $500 and $NVDL might be a good way to play it if it’s around earnings 

$BABA is going back over $100 - $BABX may be the way to play it

Pain trade is - yields on bonds (10yr specifically) still goes up - numbers like retail sales keep going up - and market is positioned for a soft landing. The danger is the market position is out of wack - if that’s the case - the market will correct with the Fed being higher for longer. No analysts are taking their earnings estimates down. 

If the market was panicked - the VIX would be at 25 - it’s at 17.
