  • The Cable Car Causing Trouble For Cork Farmers
Off the coast of West Cork, there is an island that is mainly populated with cattle and ewes and is only accessible by cable car.
Dursey Island is just off the western tip of the Beara Peninsula and home to over 100 cattle and 500 ewes owned by eight farmers.
The island is connected to the mainland by a cable car, something that is hugely popular with tourists.
However, much like everything else tourism related, the pandemic greatly impacted on the service of the cable car and as a result, on the work of the farmers.
Speaking to Dermot and Dave, Donal O'Donovan from the West Cork branch of the Irish Farmers' Assocation explained why they need the opening hours to change.

  • Suffering From Brain Fog? Here's How You Can Treat It
We all know the feeling of not being able to remember a name, a word or why we went up the stairs. Perhaps you know the sensation of feeling like your brain is really foggy.
But for thousands of people, brain fog is something that has a massive impact on their day to day life.
In the new book 'Beating Brain Fog: Your 30 Day plan to think Faster, Sharper, Better', author and neuroscientist Dr Sabina Brennan describes brain fog as:
‘...a collection of symptoms which give rise to loss of mental clarity or foggy thinking. When you have brain fog your symptoms are persistent, occur regularly and interfere with the quality of your life, your relationships and your work. People affected by brain fog experience slowed thinking, problems concentrating and have difficulty focusing their attention. They may also have trouble with remembering, learning new things and can experience language issues such as difficulty finding the right word. Some people affected have difficulties navigating spaces’.
The condition is not a diagnosis, disease or disorder, rather it's a sign or symptom of an underlying health condition, a side-effect of medication, the result of hormonal changes or the consequences of dietary choices or lifestyle issues.
As both a neuroscientist and someone who has experienced brain fog in the past, Dr Sabina Brennan has compiled a 30 day plan that will help you identify the causes and start to feel like yourself again.
Speaking to Dermot and Dave, Sabina explained some of those causes and shared some tips from her new book.
