  • 'Do You Want To Face A Pandemic In Something That's Better Than Nothing?' Top GP Weighs In On Visors
It's all a new world and we're all just trying to get used to living in it, but one thing that is causing an awful lot of debate is around the popular 'visors'.
While there's definitely merits to them, recent studies have shown that perhaps we shouldn't be relying on them as our only means for protection.
To clear up the big visor debate, and to explain what we all should be wearing, Dr Matt O'Toole joined Dermot and Dave with some quick advice.

  • How Do Flies Fly? The Mystery Has Been Solved
If you've ever had a question that's been wrecking your head that even Google can't solve, there's always Dave's World.
Larry got in touch with Dave with this question:
Can Dave's World answer this? A fly lands on the ceiling, and then flies away. How does he fly away? Can he just "turn off" whatever suction pads he uses, fall backwards for a split second, then right himself and fly away? Or does he jump backwards, breaking the suction, fall backwards and right himself? Can't find anything on Google! Larry.
Dave's World can't solve it, but we knew just the person who could. Collie Ennis, Science Officer for the Herpetological Society of Ireland joined Dermot and Dave where he explained how flies, well, fly.

  • Mullingar To Do Drive-Thru Trick-Or-Treating This Halloween
With Halloween just weeks away, the country is divided over whether or not the traditional trick or treating should go ahead.
However, there could be a solution that will suit everyone!
Speaking to Dermot and Dave, Philip McKeown revealed that he has created a 'Halloween Drive Thru Trick or Treat Experience' in Mullingar which will allow people to trick or treat safely.
The event, which takes place in the Mullingar Equestrian Centre on October 30th and 31st is described as a 'one hour Halloween experience' which is suitable for all ages.
It will be completely contactless, everyone will stay in their car throughout and sweets will be passed into the trick or treat bags through a 2 metre tube. And it'll have a real Halloween feel with ghosts, ghouls and witches offering tricks and treats as well as a fireworks display and a live performance of Thriller included!

  • Press Or Counter? Where Do You Keep Your Toaster?
Some questions in life are made for arguments-should ketchup be in the fridge or not? Dressing gowns or housecoats? But the one dividing the Dermot and Dave team at the moment is 'where should you keep your toaster?'
Eimear from the show recently moved in with her boyfriend and is currently involved in a raging debate over her fella's wish to keep the toaster in the press. She believes firmly that it should be on the counter, with its best pal, the kettle.
Not only has it caused ructions at home, it's now been brought into the office where it's split the D&D team right down the middle and it turns out, the nation as well.

  • Should Trick Or Treating Go Ahead? Ireland Is Divided
With Halloween just over a month away, question marks are beginning to spring up about whether or not trick or treating will be on the cards for thousands around the country.
And listeners to Dermot and Dave are divided over whether or not it's appropriate for children to travel around their local area knocking to neighbours houses.
Some listeners feel it's the chance for children to have some sense of occasion after St. Patricks' Day, Easter and thousands of communions and confirmations have been cancelled or postponed while others see the notion of interacting with that many people as impossible given current restrictions.
A poll taken by Dermot and Dave found that 53% of listeners believe Halloween should go ahead as it usually would, while 47% would prefer to see no trick or treating.
