Well, it turns out the deli delicacy may not be as popular as we think.

This morning on Dermot & Dave we spoke to a listener caller Emma from Mullingar who have never eaten a chicken roll in her life.

It all came off the back of this weeks competition on the show, where Dermot & Dave are giving one lucky listener a change to win a Centra Gold Card, which would entitle them to one free chicken roll a week, FOR A YEAR!

In response to the competition, Emma messages in and Dave decided we had to talk to her on-air. Emma revealed that she had been to a deli before and had gotten a Jambon but just never went for the roll.

It turns out, Emma wasn't alone and as a result Dermot & Dave received an influx of messages from people who were on their way to the shop to purchase their first Chicken Fillet Roll.

Hector Anseo’ is a 6-part series of one-hour programmes that will transcend the lockdown. They will begin with Hector in his own shed talking to the nation, building their hope, championing their survival skills but will, we hope, be a shining light to the nation as Hector like us all will be unleashed and freed.

Joining Hector for the first episode are Michael Healy Rae, Gráinne Seoige from South Africa, Trevor Brennan - former Ireland, Leinster + Toulouse rugby player and now a publican, live from Toulouse, Dan Shanahan - Ex Waterford hurler All-Star, Conor Moore – Golf Impersonator and Gavin James - Award Winning Singer Songwriter.

But Hector will also be joined by a Bean on Tí who is devastated to not be taking in any children this summer.

In the midst of a pandemic we all need something to look forward to, so The Coronas’ fans can rejoice as the band are set to release a new single, ‘Lost in The Thick of It’, on Friday 15th May. ‘Lost in The Thick of It’ is a collaboration, written and performed by The Coronas and acclaimed English singer-songwriter Gabrielle Aplin, and it features a melancholic piano hook, with Aplin and O’Reilly’s vocals complementing each other beautifully.

Gabrielle reached a mainstream audience with her cover of Frankie Goes To Hollywood’s ‘The Power of Love’ used as the soundtrack to the John Lewis Christmas advertisement. Since then she has released three studio albums, most recently Dear Happy in January 2020.

Singer Danny gives us the story of how the song came to be: ‘Gabrielle and her partner, Alfie (Hudson-Taylor) invited me to their home in Brighton last year for a weekend of hanging out. We said we might try to write a little but it was more like a mini-holiday in my mind. We wrote a song together on which Gabrielle sang lead vocals that became ‘Lost in The Thick of It’ and I loved the demo so much I suggested adding my vocal in a lower octave and making it a duet.’
