  • How to Effectively Share Your Story, with Lindsay Pinchuk, Marketing Consultant and Host of Dear FoundHer...

Today host Lindsay Pinchuk is sharing with you the number one lesson she shares with clients, students and within her community. Are you sharing your story? This is one of the most powerful marketing tools you have at your fingertips, and if you’re not utilizing it, you’re missing out.  Sharing your story is the FIRST STEP in any content strategy for your brand. This episode will challenge you to go through and to write out your story and share it.

So as you’re writing down your own story to share, I want you to think about and consider the following:

    1. Your story isn’t what you are today or your title, it is the journey and path that you took to get there.
    2. Your greater story is made up of a lot of little stories—so pull those out over time and share them with your community as a way to connect. Share your story at least once a month…and in between sharing your big picture story, share those little stories along the way.
    3. Make sure you have a long, medium and short version of your story—and that your story version is your ONE SENTENCE elevator pitch: what you do, how and why.
    4. Don’t be afraid to be vulnerable—share the failures, share the lessons. It makes you human and likable.
    5. Truly, just be yourself. When you are yourself you connect with the people you are meant to connect with—you attract the right community and customer and ultimately you end up in the right place with your business.

To Ignite Your Brand with Lindsay, make sure you're following her on TikTok @igniteyourbrand where she's sharing an actionable tip every day throughout the month of August.

  • From 0 to 45K on Instagram in Less than a Year, with Kar Brulhart, Social Media Consultant

“Organic marketing to me, or organic social, is really just about being you, but finding really unique ways to tell universal stories,” explains Kar Brulhart, social media consultant.

If you have ever wanted to grow your Instagram following, but were unsure where to start, you’re in luck! Kar Brulhart is a social media wiz who got her start as the social media manager for the United Nations World Food Program. When the pandemic layoffs caused her to lose what she thought was her dream job as head of social for a startup in NY, Kar pivoted to consulting, eager to teach other women business owners everything she knew about social media marketing. In just ten months, Kar grew her following organically from 0 to 45,000 followers- and that’s not even the best part. Through monetizing her Instagram and social media skills, she quickly began pulling in a six figure income. If you are not already following Kar, you’re absolutely going to want to after hearing today’s episode.

    Today’s helpful highlights are:

    • You don't need a lot of followers to monetize!
    •  You can grow your social media with zero budget simply through authentic storytelling. With the right approach, success is possible on Instagram.
    • Organic marketing is really just about being you. It's finding unique ways to tell universal stories.
    • Show up on Instagram Live and do so with a diverse group of guests. This will get you in front of new audiences, ultimately growing yours.
    • Treat your social media the same way you would a corporate job. You have to be consistent in the work that you do every day.

    Quotes

    • “It's about creating work that I love to do that serves other people and provides for my family in a way that I would never be able to do if I was in corporate or working for somebody else. So that's how I kind of base my projects.” (13:06 | Kar)
    • “Anyone can grow organically on social media with the right strategy.” (15:46 | Kar)
    • “Organic marketing to me or organic social is really just about being you, but finding really unique ways to tell universal stories.” (17:03 | Kar)
    • “Block time off on your calendar to market your own business. When you are a service provider, your calendar is full of appointments for other people. You need to make time for yourself to move your own business.” (25:31 | Kar)

  • In Memory of the Highland Park Parade Shooting Victims

On the one-year anniversary of the mass shooting at the Highland Park, IL Fourth of July Parade, host, Lindsay Pinchuk reflects on the last year before re-sharing her conversation with Kitty Brandtner, Founder of March Fourth, from nearly a year ago.

Let this episode be a reminder that:

    1. We do not have to live like this.
    2. There are small steps that anyone can take to help change gun control laws---and they have big impact.
    3. Together we can accomplish so much.

Think about the meaning of Independence Day—what does it mean to you and how you want to live your life.

And as the next two days unfold in front of you….let this be a reminder to enjoy them.  Unplug, Rest. Recharge. Eat that burger at the BBQ, go for a swim, connect with friends, hug your loved ones.

Because when you really think about it that is what Independence Day should be all about.

    Quotes

    • “It is this incredible group of mostly women, but also men. It’s not just moms and it’s not just parents—it’s people from all walks of life. But the common theme is that we don’t believe that we should feel unsafe going to a grocery store, concert, parade, sending our kids to school, etc. It shouldn’t be this way.”(14:19-14:43 | Kitty)

    • “Part of what makes this easy is we only have one goal, there’s no convoluted six-step plan. Our goal is to federally ban assault weapons and to do it right now. That’s it.” (16:45-16:59 | Kitty)

    • “When there’s a will, there’s a way. If something matters and you put all your energy into it, you’re going to make it happen. There’s no alternative.” (27:00-27:09 | Kitty)

  • Tips to Catapult Your Career Through a Solid Personal Brand, with Aliza Licht, Founder of Leave Your Mark

“The magic of a strong personal brand is when your name is dropped in rooms you're not in and you're recommended for opportunities other people haven't even heard of yet,” shares Aliza Licht, founder of Leave Your Mark, best-selling author, and sought after keynote speaker.

Get ready to catapult your career to new heights as we delve into the exciting world of Aliza Licht, a true social media pioneer and personal branding expert. As the voice behind DKNY’s PR Girl, one of the first fashion influencers on social media, Aliza learned firsthand how incredible a solid personal brand can be. Stepping away from her identity as DKNY’s PR Girl was a little intimidating, but opened the door for Aliza to reinvent her identity based on her skill sets and what she actually wanted to be doing. Now, she uses everything she has learned from over two decades of experience in marketing, digital strategy, and communications to propel her own brand forward and help others leave their mark on the world.

    Here are today’s helpful highlights:

    • The magic of a strong personal brand is when your name is dropped in rooms that you’re not in.
    • Guardrails are important for your personal brand. Think about what you want to be known for with each post. If you don’t know, don’t post.

    Quotes

    • “When you're posting something, say to yourself, ‘Why am I posting this? What do I hope to get out of posting this?’ And if you can't answer that question, don't post it.” (25:07-25:18 | Aliza)
    • “The screenshot is more powerful than the delete button.” (25:26-25:29 | Aliza)
    • “For every one time you're sharing a win about yourself, proactively amplify five other people and what they're doing or support them, so that you're not just talking about yourself all day.” (29:23-29:34 | Aliza)
