Support the showIn this episode, I speak with Josh Hawley, a close friend who will soon be returning to the US after a five-year stint in Japan. This is Josh's second stay in Japan, the first being as a US Navy sailor back in the late 1990s, at which time he met his ex-wife and had a son, both of whom he remains in close contact with today. While in Japan, Josh spent over a year teaching in Tateshina, and during that time we spent a great many hours together hiking Nagano's gorgeous peaks and taking long walks around town together with Den, the doge.
