We are quickly approaching the most wonderful time of the year, the holiday season! Take a moment to let that set in. Now, reflect on what emotions that brings up inside you. Did you just get anxious, hungry, overwhelmed, excited?
In this week’s episode Carrie is asking the question: Why does everything get thrown out the window with the holidays? The truth is, because our brain likes the familiar, it likes being comfortable and that causes us to fall back into cycles of self-sabotage.
Well, not this year! Listen in so you can go through this holiday season with confidence and feel in-control of yourself through the chaos. Carrie will give you the strategies to do this and it will NOT include tracking calories, getting on a scale, or depriving yourself. Join Carrie for a Real Talk, Real Stories episode, featuring Diamond! Her story is one that you won’t believe! Diamond was in kidney failure, on dialysis and at 53 underwent her second (yes, second) Kidney transplant. At a follow-up appointment in reviewing her labs, her doctor told her that her phosphorus was low and told her to drink Coca-Cola to increase her phosphorus! News flash, there is zero nutritional value in Coca-Cola.
Diamond didn’t drink soda and at that point decided against the nutritional advice of her doctor. Instead, she was going to take her new kidney, and find a new way to take care of her health so she went to Dr. Google instead and found Carrie!
What made the difference for Diamond? Working on improving 1% each day in mind, body and lifestyle. The best part was that she was being supported in small group coaching sessions and in honor of that we are giving our listeners the chance to do the same, but only for the next 24 hours!

Carrie is sharing her personal menopausal story and how treating her body through the power of blood sugar regulation to get to the root cause of symptoms; and her menopausal mindset helped her coast through menopause. If you’ve been listening lately, you know Carrie and Deb have been dedicated to what’s REALLY weighing us down. Today is the last episode in our series and our topic this week is something we all participate in every single day, habits!
Your habits are the actions you take every day. Some are positive habits, and some are negative habits. Often, when people think about weight loss, they think about this really big goal to lose 20 pounds as an example. That’s what we call an outcome goal. It’s the kind of goal we literally have zero control over, because to achieve it we must take action. And as you may have suspected, we don’t have control of the weight coming off.
Carrie and Deb are going to show you how behavior goals and changing your daily habits can help you achieve all of your goals. Change doesn’t have to be big, it can be little actions and we have developed a FREE resource to help you get on track.

Carrie and Deb are back for another episode in our What’s Really Weighing You Down series. And this one, is a controversial topic that we are hitting hard.
Obesity is a sensitive topic and there is a lot of blame and shame that comes with it. Carrie and Deb are raising a very important question – is obesity really a disease? Or, has obesity actually been manufactured by humans? Consider this, there is something that has changed with our food system and in our culture that is causing us to be obese.
Not every country has an obesity problem. In the US however, obesity has tripled in the last 30-40 years. 86 million Americans have pre-diabetes, and 40 million Americans are diabetic. There is something in our culture that is causing us to be obese. And obesity is a symptom of metabolic disease. It’s time to stop the madness and balance our blood sugar through food.

Carrie loves a Real Talk with Real Clients episode and this week we are featuring DN client turned coach, Kim! Like many of the women we talk to, Kim had been dieting since high school. She always sought permanent results through diet after diet. As you may have suspected, Kim would have temporary results, fall off the diet, and then feel defeated like she had failed, over and over and over again. Her body was in complete disarray after all the years of dieting. Sound familiar?
Kim dove into DN, even after trying all the diets out there, she never had a dedicated coach. There was so much more with DN, she had the personal connection of working one-on-one with her coach and created relationships with the people in the program. The coaching staff and an educational approach made all the difference for her.
A year ago, Kim got her cancer diagnosis, she knew what food did to her body when she didn’t treat it well. Now, Kim had the DN lifestyle! She wasn’t scared about how to take care of herself and for the first time in her life, she had the confidence to FIGHT.

Welcome back to another episode in our continuing What’s Really Weighing Us Down series. This week, we are talking about the idea that self judgment is what is constantly weighing us down and we’re talking with Mindset Coach Stephanie Rousseau who is creating a legacy of love by helping women love themselves first.
Stephanie realizes the value of a coach having a coach, so she personally started working with us here at Disruptive Nutrition 3 years ago. What was weighing her down was a lack of true self compassion and an unhealthy striving mindset. The combination of these things was destructive to her and even she didn’t realize how very rooted in both she truly was. She even wanted to do the DN perfectly, at the perfect time, and in the perfect way. Perfectionism was in her way. Can you relate?
Stephanie’s definition of self-compassion has evolved through the program because she’s realizing she was focused on the dichotomy of all or nothing thinking. Women are filled with myths about what self-compassion means and this episode is dedicated to clearing up that confusion and committing to our own self compassion, FIERCELY!
Are you ready to start treating yourself with the same grace and compassion as you would a close friend or family member?

How would you rate your self-confidence? Does it make you uncomfortable to even think about it?! Meet our Disruptive Nutrition member, Katie. In this Real Talk with Real Clients episode, she is sharing her own health journey.
Before working in Carrie's private practice, Katie had been on Weight Watchers and was training for a marathon. Although she was losing 3-5 lbs a week on that program while she was training, she was feeling worse and worse. Her body wasn’t responding well to long training runs which was affecting her confidence. But on paper, Katie seemed to be doing all the right things. Calories in, calories out. Or was she??
Katie got married but didn’t love her wedding photos because of the way she looked. She wanted to do things with her very active husband and despite having run a marathon, she couldn’t do the things she wanted to go out and do with him.
After work with Carrie and her team, she quickly learned food is required for her body to thrive and she wasn’t eating enough food to fuel her body! While Katie may still struggle with body image at times, she is seeing how important 1% progress a day is and her confidence has significantly improved! Now, she’s on the road to a healthier lifestyle and that has helped her mentally.
Food can be fun and it can serve the body and the soul. We feel better when we fuel more often!

We love our Real Talk with Real Clients episodes! In honor of many who are back to school we are sitting down with school counselor, Jen! She started working with Carrie and her team at the busiest time of year for her school schedule, but it was also the perfect time for a lot of reasons!
Jen who at first glance, appeared to be perfectly healthy and fit was on weight watchers when she first met Carrie. She was regularly working out at the gym, but still felt like she was straining to get fitness in. Her days even included physical therapy to deal with the pain and inflammation she was feeling!
Jen often found herself sitting on the couch in tears after a workout. She was constantly in pain, icing her sore body and using a Theragun massage tool to ease her sore muscles. She couldn’t live like this anymore. It was time for something different!
As soon as Jen started learning how to fuel her body with a focus on blood sugar her sweet cravings went away, her pain went away, and her energy came back! She now realizes those diets were never going to work. Jen doesn’t feel the guilt anymore about the choices she makes because she’s now getting healthy from the inside out!
