Carrie and Deb are back for another episode in our What’s Really Weighing You Down series. And this one, is a controversial topic that we are hitting hard.
Obesity is a sensitive topic and there is a lot of blame and shame that comes with it. Carrie and Deb are raising a very important question – is obesity really a disease? Or, has obesity actually been manufactured by humans? Consider this, there is something that has changed with our food system and in our culture that is causing us to be obese.
Not every country has an obesity problem. In the US however, obesity has tripled in the last 30-40 years. 86 million Americans have pre-diabetes, and 40 million Americans are diabetic. There is something in our culture that is causing us to be obese. And obesity is a symptom of metabolic disease. It’s time to stop the madness and balance our blood sugar through food.

Carrie loves a Real Talk with Real Clients episode and this week we are featuring DN client turned coach, Kim! Like many of the women we talk to, Kim had been dieting since high school. She always sought permanent results through diet after diet. As you may have suspected, Kim would have temporary results, fall off the diet, and then feel defeated like she had failed, over and over and over again. Her body was in complete disarray after all the years of dieting. Sound familiar?
Kim dove into DN, even after trying all the diets out there, she never had a dedicated coach. There was so much more with DN, she had the personal connection of working one-on-one with her coach and created relationships with the people in the program. The coaching staff and an educational approach made all the difference for her.
A year ago, Kim got her cancer diagnosis, she knew what food did to her body when she didn’t treat it well. Now, Kim had the DN lifestyle! She wasn’t scared about how to take care of herself and for the first time in her life, she had the confidence to FIGHT.

Welcome back to another episode in our continuing What’s Really Weighing Us Down series. This week, we are talking about the idea that self judgment is what is constantly weighing us down and we’re talking with Mindset Coach Stephanie Rousseau who is creating a legacy of love by helping women love themselves first.
Stephanie realizes the value of a coach having a coach, so she personally started working with us here at Disruptive Nutrition 3 years ago. What was weighing her down was a lack of true self compassion and an unhealthy striving mindset. The combination of these things was destructive to her and even she didn’t realize how very rooted in both she truly was. She even wanted to do the DN perfectly, at the perfect time, and in the perfect way. Perfectionism was in her way. Can you relate?
Stephanie’s definition of self-compassion has evolved through the program because she’s realizing she was focused on the dichotomy of all or nothing thinking. Women are filled with myths about what self-compassion means and this episode is dedicated to clearing up that confusion and committing to our own self compassion, FIERCELY!
Are you ready to start treating yourself with the same grace and compassion as you would a close friend or family member?

How would you rate your self-confidence? Does it make you uncomfortable to even think about it?! Meet our Disruptive Nutrition member, Katie. In this Real Talk with Real Clients episode, she is sharing her own health journey.
Before joining DN, Katie had been on Weight Watchers and was training for a marathon. Although she was losing 3-5 lbs a week on that program while she was training, she was feeling worse and worse. Her body wasn’t responding well to long training runs which was affecting her confidence. But on paper, Katie seemed to be doing all the right things. Calories in, calories out. Or was she??
Katie got married but didn’t love her wedding photos because of the way she looked. She wanted to do things with her very active husband and despite having run a marathon, she couldn’t do the things she wanted to go out and do with him.
After starting the DN program, she quickly learned food is required for her body to thrive and she wasn’t eating enough food to fuel her body! Katie still struggles with body image, but her confidence has significantly improved! Now, she’s on the road to a healthier lifestyle and that has helped her mentally.
Food can be fun and it can serve the body and the soul. We feel better when we fuel more often!

We love our Real Talk with Real Clients episodes! In honor of many who are back to school we are sitting down with school counselor, Jen! She started Disruptive Nutrition at the busiest time of year for her school schedule, but it was also the perfect time for a lot of reasons!
Jen who at first glance, appeared to be perfectly healthy and fit was on weight watchers when she came to Disruptive Nutrition. She was regularly working out at the gym, but still felt like she was straining to get fitness in. Her days even included physical therapy to deal with the pain and inflammation she was feeling!
Jen often found herself sitting on the couch in tears after a workout. She was constantly in pain, icing her sore body and using a Theragun massage tool to ease her sore muscles. She couldn’t live like this anymore. It was time for something different!
As soon as Jen started with Disruptive Nutrition and began eating PFC3 her sweet cravings went away, her pain went away, and her energy came back! She now realizes those diets were never going to work. Jen doesn’t feel the guilt anymore about the choices she makes because she’s now getting healthy from the inside out!

It’s the second episode in our new What’s Really Weighing You Down series and this week Carrie and Deb are tackling a topic that is at the center of the weight loss debate. Is it weight loss or overall health that you REALLY want?
Maybe you’re not even sure of the answer, but when we talk with hundreds of women, 90% of the time, weight loss is always the most important component to what they believe is getting healthy. The conversation inevitably turns to the way their clothes fit, or the way they think other people see them and they will use the scale to measure overall progress.
Our body is trying to protect us and holding on to weight to do just that. A truly HEALTHY body will naturally release weight. We are diving into the difference between weight loss and health because we’ve been telling ourselves a big lie and it’s what is really weighing us down. Tune in!

We love a Real Talk with Real Clients episode, and this one might be one of our absolute favorites! You will not believe this transformation in just 2 months!
Like many of the women we speak with, Alane has been on a diet rollercoaster for 30 years and that included dealing with metabolic issues. Alane always wanted to feel better, to feel healthy and to lose weight. So, she did what anyone else would do, she regularly met with her Dr.
The advice she was given was to lose weight. Isn’t that what everyone says? If you want to feel better, you have to eat less and work out more. When she did the things her Dr. recommended, she actually felt worse!
Alane quickly realized after watching the Disruptive Nutrition webinar, THIS was different, and it was time for something different. Without hesitation she joined us, and her results are incredible! Tune in this week to hear how in just 2 short months, everything changed!

We are featuring a Real Talk with Real Clients episode this week and it may be one of our favorite ones yet!
Meet Jean, who is a 52-year-old educator, but was living like a 75-year-old when Carrie met her. Not only was Jean on insulin when we met her, but her daily blood sugar was registering in the 400’s and at those levels, she was lucky to be alive. (Normal blood sugar is between 80-120).
Jean experienced fatigue, join pain, mood swings, was constantly getting sick and was battling Hashimoto’s. Each time Jean visited her Dr. they gave her more medicine/insulin to manage her symptoms, but that only made her feel worse and worse. She realized she needed a real change to heal her body.
In only the first 2 weeks with DN her blood sugar was down to 170!!! She wears a continuous glucose monitor and regularly pays attention to how food affects her blood sugar. She adjusts where necessary and has stabilized her blood sugar.
After 4 weeks with us she was off insulin entirely and had lost 20 lbs! Jean truly realizes the power of saying no to things that hurt her body and is entirely focused on making herself the healthiest she can be. We are so proud of you Jean!

We are doing something exciting here at DN! Today, we are officially launching a podcast series designed to help you get to the bottom of what is REALLY weighing you down!
50% of people will have done some sort of diet this year, but 75% of people still have some type of insulin resistance or pre-diabetes diagnosis. That just doesn’t add up!
The messaging in our media has influenced us to eat more processed food while trying to be skinny. We’ve turned to low fat, skinny options that are loaded with chemical additives and junk to make it taste good and sit on the shelf longer.
This new podcast series is dedicated to women who are interested in knowing what’s really going on after trying diet after diet and giving into binges and cravings without knowing why. Join Carrie and Deb for a multi-layered approach about the diet industry, and what’s really weighing you down to achieve food freedom one and for all!
