DINNER PARTNERS with Christopher & Eric episodes

  • Ep. 48 – The Murder of William Newton: 30 Years Later
It's been thirty years since the dismembered remains of William "Billy" Newton were discovered in a Hollywood dumpster, three decades in which his loved ones have gone without answers in his brutal killing. Last seen alive at a gay nightclub in West Hollywood, the young man's horrifying slaying traumatized a community, inspiring many wild theories, but no arrests or real leads. To mark this grim milestone, Christopher and Eric turn up startling new information about the case, including a detailed statement from the first law enforcement officer to lay eyes on Newton's remains, and from our tip line email address comes a jaw dropping account from a man who might have been among the last people to see Billy alive. Has this eyewitness to Billy's final movements revealed crucial information about Billy's murder that remains unknown possibly even to law enforcement, information that might connect Billy's murder to a shocking and famous new suspect? Clearly, this is just the beginning of Christopher and Eric's conversation about this complex case, here and on The Dinner Party Show's Facebook page. Anyone with tips or recollections is urged to email [email protected]. Together we can keep Billy's name and hope for justice alive.

  • Ep. 47 – Christopher & Eric’s True Crime Special Edition Serves Up “The Case That Haunts Me: The Evil Fantasy – Parts 1 and 2”
Christopher and Eric return to one of their favorite true crime television series, the exquisitely produced and absolutely riveting THE CASE THAT HAUNTS ME, serving up Episodes 1 and 2 of Season 3, entitled "The Evil Fantasy, Parts 1 and 2". Like us, maybe you've heard of the notorious Canadian serial killer who hid the body parts of his victims in shockingly idyllic locations. But you might not know the twisted path through the darkest corners of the Internet that lead Toronto police to his door. On the Dark Web, the line between fantasy and criminality can seem razor thin. But in this case, a penchant for gruesome role play leads to a real-life killer whose crimes shocked one of Canada's most vibrant and diverse LGBT communities.

  • Ep. 46 – Christopher & Eric’s True Crime TV Club Serves Up “Rewind”
In one of the more moving and riveting installments of Christopher & Eric's True Crime TV Club to date, your hosts serve up the powerful documentary film REWIND, an exploration of the sexual abuse that infected a family for generations and an indictment of how the criminal justice system treated one of its youngest victims. Directed by the man who was subjected to this horror show of physical, emotional and judicial abuse, REWIND uses unflinching interviews with the official and familial witnesses to these crimes as well as an extensive archive of prescient home movies from the director’s childhood. It's a story of tragedy and incredible bravery, and for your hosts the result is a podcast every bit as emotional as REWIND's depiction of trauma, hope, activism and change.

  • Ep. 45 – What’s Science? Vol. 4 featuring “What On Earth? – Island Of Alien Ooze & Who Built Supervillain Island?”
When satellites go high, TV producers go low. That's the basic flight path for WHAT ON EARTH? the latest victim…er, subject of Christopher and Eric's special series, "What's Science?" Eric takes to the skies of Episode 3, Season 8, and ultimately crash lands on an "Island of Alien Ooze". In Episode 4 of Season 2, Christopher peers down through the clouds to see "Who Built Supervillain Island?" even though the answer's pretty obvious and he'd rather talk about that blood waterfall in Antarctica. These dubious outings inspire Eric to retitle the series in question, WHAT THE HELL IS THAT THING? But the real question is, will the producers employ any form of scientific method to find an answer? (Spoiler Alert: Probably not.)

  • Ep. 44 – Christopher & Eric’s True Crime TV Club Serves Up “A Crime To Remember: Candyland”
Join Christopher and Eric on this trip back through the years to a simpler time when married male business owners chose to live with their much younger, handsome male employees in cramped apartments just because they wanted to save on rent. (Yeah, sure, dudes.) A more peaceful time when sleeping with your relatives was as simple as having a little cosmetic surgery, and Chevrolets were considered cool. This installment of True Crime TV Club, in which Christopher and Eric serve up Season 2, Episode 3 of A CRIME TO REMEMBER, entitled "Candyland", offers up more bitter marital acrimony than bonbons, and a murder mystery to choke on. Be warned. The only thing sweet about Candy Mosler -- the Houston socialite at the center of this jaw-dropping story -- is her name.

  • Ep. 43 – What’s Science? Vol. 3 featuring “Forbidden Mysteries – Ancient Knowledge & Lost Worlds: Anomalies on The Moon & The Nephilim Watchers, Will They Return To Earth?”
In this new edition of WHAT'S SCIENCE?, Eric takes a conspiracy-driven trip to the moon that never quite sticks the lunar landing. Or anything else, for that matter. Meanwhile, Christopher tries to keep track of the hundreds of names that have been given to mysterious giants throughout the centuries, and ultimately puts his pen down somewhere around name #342. Welcome to the world of FORBIDDEN MYSTERIES – ANCIENT KNOWLEDGE & LOST WORLDS, in which nothing is at it seems. Or accurate. Or comprehensible. Eric tries (and ultimately refuses) to give himself to Season 1, Episode 2, "Anomalies On The Moon" and Christopher measures himself against all the giants supposedly on display in Season 4, Episode 3, "The Nephilim Watchers – Will They Return To Earth" and finds he's taller by a mile. There's bad and then there's…Forbidden Mysteries.

  • Ep. 42 – Christopher & Eric’s True Crime TV Club Serves Up “Young, Hot & Crooked: Killer Looks”
A twenty-minute TV show with a fifteen minute opening theme song! One male strip club re-enactment played over and over and over and over (and over) again! An "adult film superstar" Christopher and Eric have never heard of! It's an episode packed with True Crime TV Club firsts as Christopher and Eric warily slide their dollar bills into the sweaty G-string of  Season 1, Episode 8 of  YOUNG, HOT & CROOKED entitled, "Killer Looks". Was John Snavely, a popular porn performer with a gay-for-pay past, responsible for a bloody South Florida crime? What this special doesn’t tell you Christopher & Eric reveal as they strip off the insinuations to expose their own throbbing update on the case. Along the way they offer up a spirited discussion of how the shame and stigma associated with sex work endangers lives.

  • Ep. 41 – Not Afraid Of The Dark
HBO's documentary series I'LL BE GONE IN THE DARK paints a powerful portrait of the obsessions that inspired and consumed Michelle McNamara. Her work was pivotal to identifying The Golden State Killer. But in the end, a different and more insidious killer claimed McNamara's life. Christopher and Eric go on a deep dive into the dark, as they take an honest look at the close kinship shared by inspiration, obsession and addiction. Sanity should not be the cost of creativity. Your hosts also discuss how they walk the fine line between the light and the dark in their own lives by using positive obsessions to overpower the negative ones that often demand our attention.

  • Ep. 40 – Christopher & Eric’s True Crime TV Club Serves Up “American Nightmare: Paradise Lost”
A terrible storm. A gorgeous couple poised to begin an exciting new life. Enough real crime scene video to give you the creeps. And then some more crime scene video on top of that. In their dark salute to hurricane season, Christopher and Eric serve up Season 1, Episode 3 of AMERICAN NIGHTMARE, entitled "Paradise Lost".  When Mike and Missy MacIvor are found brutally murdered in their new home in the Florida Keys, the blood trails seem to lead to past lovers. And possibly their neighbors. Or maybe drug smugglers? The case drags on for a year and Christopher and Eric have some questions about the stunning recollection that solves it. But perhaps the more important question is, how much is too much real crime scene video?

  • Ep. 39 – What’s Science? Vol. 2 featuring “Forbidden History: The Mystery of the Giants and Bloodlust: Real Vampires”
Christopher and Eric put down their magnifying glasses and pick up their Botox needles so they can get rid of all the furrows in their brows they developed after sitting through these alleged trips into the paranormal. Eric breaks down Season 2, Episode 6 of FORBIDDEN HISTORY, entitled "Bloodlust: Real Vampires". It sheds plenty of blood, for sure. But no one seems that interested in drinking it. Especially Eric. Christopher heads to the island of Sardinia for "Mystery of the Giants," Episode 9 of Season 2. There are giant tombs aplenty and strange guys offering to sell suitcases full of mysterious bones and archaeologists aplenty who seem to have better things to do than be interviewed by this show. But are there giants, though? Christopher and Eric want to believe, but you gotta bring them more than just tall tales.
