Like many disabled people, Teona Studemire is stereotyped and dehumanised by the ableist world that we live in. So she decided to write about it.
Teona has used her platform on Twitter and Medium to speak about medical trauma in the Black community, being diagnosed as Autistic as an adult and more recently spoke about how society needs to normalise people with disabilities having sex. She came onto The Nasty Woman Club podcast to chat with host Demi Lynch about her frustrating experiences with doctors and how they didn't take her chronic pain seriously. And she also spoke about the struggles of identifying herself as someone with a disability when she lives in an ableist world.
Make sure you check out Teona's blog where she has written about sex toys for people with disabilities, growing up Autistic but undiagnosed and how her chronic pain impacts her social life. For more stories visit medium.com/@teespoonie
Also don't forget to follow her on Twitter at twitter.com/tee_spoonie
Teona has generously given up her time and put in a great amount of effort in educating others about racism and ableism on her platforms. To show your support buy Teona a cup of coffee at ko-fi.com/teespoonie
