In this week's episode Doh Athan takes a closer look at the case of 14-year-old schoolboy Mai Cho Min Htwe, who is today languishing in a Mandalay prison, accused of a crime his family says he did not commit.

Mai Cho Min Htwe was jailed for two years for allegedly being involved the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA), but his lawyers say he was convicted without a proper trial and claim the boy has been tortured during his three months in prison.

With the controversial arrest of two Reuters journalists in December, Myanmar has again been the focus of international criticism.

Myanmar’s national minimum wage is set to rise from 3600 kyats 4800 kyats later this month.

But the decision has been met with criticism with many people saying its not enough because of the rising cost of living.

Doh Athan has spoken to workers who say they are struggling to provide for their families and have urged the authorities to increase pay further.
