Doopy Brothers Podcast

With another DC destroying in the books, we are full steam ahead with a mega-matchup looming this weekend. After discussing how we beat down on DC United and how Kacper Przybylko is Luke's new crush, we take a deep dive into just how to beat the juggernaut that is Atlanta United. We think we figured it out so Jim, take notes. We need the help of the fans to get us out of a family vacation to sneak up to Chester Saturday night so all suggestions welcome!!

We don't know why but crappy games make for some of our longer episodes. This one wasn't all doom and gloom although we go through what we thought went wrong in the Chicago game and then get into some more "Posidelphian" topics. We continue to look forward to the final stretch of the season and why we think we this year won't fall into the same patterns of Union teams in the past. Other discussions include social media observations, striker discussion, Kit Talk!!, and DC/alumni night preview. DOOP!

A win is a win, no matter how ugly. And it wasn't terrible but we've come to expect more from our First Place in the East Philadelphia Union. But again, 3 points and regardless of the quality on the field, off the field was the biggest takeaway from the game against the Houston Dynamo; The Keystone State Ultras and the Sons of Ben got the place rocking and created one of the most memorable moments of our Union fandom. Other topics covered: Sturridge, August outlook, Chicago Fire preview.

Two-time Philadelphia International Unity Cup winner Daniel Yallah, a recent graduate of YSC Academy, recently learned that he is in the advanced stages of liver cancer. As a result, the Liberia native and former Philadelphia Union Academy and FC Delco midfielder is doing something no teenager should have to do: plan for what will happen to his younger brother and sister if he doesn't make it.

It was an epic night in DC. We got to witness one of the best Union performances of the season against the team we dislike the most. Alejandro Bedoya made a statement that made us so proud to be Union fans, he had a pretty good game too. Needless to say, this was a much more fun episode with plenty to talk about.

What a terrible, terrible game. The Union turned in probably the worst performances of the season in Montreal on Saturday. There were many obvious flaws, from Gaddis to... Gaddis (everybody was bad but ya know). After a couple of rants for each of us, we try to move on and get into a more fun mood with All-Star talk, a "seeing the future" segment, and a DC preview.

Is there any fire word play left to use after this weekend? Either way, after a less than fiery but solid 2-0 win against Chicago, we discuss what we saw from Marco Fabian and the Union on a hot, hot night in Chester. We through in some Zlatan talk and then look ahead to Montreal.

After such a disheartening loss, we brought in to the studio the only person that could cheer us up, our dad! In this special Family Edition, we go over the poor performance that was the RSL game and get into some VAR talk that stems from the game but goes in a couple different directions. After the break we preview the Chicago game as well as some discussion on the Women's World Cup and what a Union affiliated NWSL team could look like. Its a fun one!

What a weird week of soccer. We get into the "studio" and "analyze" we saw from the two Union games (It was a looong weekend full of many soccer games, including winning a freaking world cup (!!) so our recap of the week's games got a bit rough, bare with us). After we stumble through talking about the 4 points in 5 days against Orlando we get into what we might see from Salt Lake next week and get into some other fun topics such as what a Jim Curtin podcast could look like and hypothetical co-ed 6v6 combining Union players and USWNT players. So fun!

Nobody likes to talk about losses, and yet this was our longest episode yet. It didn't get too negative but this episode goes over the struggles of the two game of the past week that netted only one point. After analyzing the performances and our feelings from the results, we get into a little more fun stuff with Anti-Power Rankings and Skills Challenge: Union Edition! Then we get into the upcoming matches against Orlando and... Orlando!
