Warehouses are popping up everywhere, sprawling over acres of land with metal and concrete, and a lot of trucks moving goods in and out. These logistic centers for storage and shipping mean we can all get products delivered to us faster than ever, but what is this doing to our environment and human health as a consequence? In particular, young people are more susceptible to childhood asthma as a result of the concentrations of air pollution around these warehouses. Our next guest studies the causes and consequences of the environmental hazards around warehouses, and in particular how it disproportionately affects the vulnerable populations living near them.
