Dr. Ohmer, a native of Thibodaux, LA, graduated from Nicholls State University in 1975 with a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Chemistry. He then earned a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1979 from Louisiana State University School of Dentistry. He spent the next several years serving in the United States Army, National Guard AND National Guard, until his military retirement in 2016. 

Dr. Ohmer, a respected leader in the dental community, has been President of the Florida Academy of General Dentistry, AGD Regional Director, Region 20, AGD Trustee, Region 20 and is newly installed as the AGD President. He has served on many committees related to Continuing Education and Governance with the Academy of General Dentistry at the National level.
