Meet the guest: Dr. Patricia Ramos from the University of São Paulo (USP) in Brazil earned her degree in Animal Science from USP’s College of Animal Science and Food Engineering, followed by a Master’s and Ph.D. in Animal Science and Pastures from USP’s Luiz de Queiroz College of Agriculture. An animal scientist specializing in muscle biology and meat science, Dr. Ramos focuses on postmortem muscle energy metabolism, examining how species, breed, muscle fiber composition, and environmental stressors influence it. She has also conducted research in Meat Science at the University of Florida.
