We chat about Dr Zack Bush's experience with bringing people back from the dead. These patients found complete acceptance, as if embraced by the Universe. They asked, "Why did you bring me back?" Why is this and how can we find this acceptance and completeness in life?

Only the body dies...let's not run from death, but run to life! Many of us are fearful of death and even though we don't know it, we try to avoid anything to do with it. What we heard and experienced of death as a child can cloud our life. How can we embrace the fact that everything dies, clear away the cobwebs of what others thought or think of death and fully live our lives.

Let's travel with Jill to Agadez and the Sahara in Niger. What does she find and what realizations does it bring to her. She shares her experiences in the desert and how it affected her and the gifts she found through it. Jill experiences being a woman in a generally man's desert world. Breakfast was a bread made in the embers in the desert sand and lots of tea. Finding shade during the middle of the day to rest and then off again as it cools. It's hard to imagine how wonderful canned veggies can taste, when you have nothing else. Being serenaded by Taureg and his guitar as she slept under the stars.

Once we think we have found a truth we have arrived at a conclusion, we've closedown minds we've stopped seeing the world afresh. We begin judging and evaluating every situation and event according to the conclusion, according to what we believe is true. We then remain in the past. The mind looses it's sharpness, because we think we have the answer. Exploration stops. There is no truth no matter how high minded that is true for everything and at all times. Once this happens this truth owns us rather than sets us free.

She shares that the image of the lonely, cranky senior simply doesn’t match reality. Actually we are happier and more balanced in our older age and we feel more calm, optimistic and full of and thankful of life in our 60's, 70's and on. The younger ones tend to feel more hopeless, restless, nervous and unhappy. " The results are supported by a body of scientific literature showing that happiness is roughly U-shaped, dipping at mid-life and increasing as we age. Aging isn't a curse. But ageism is a serious global problem." Jeannette McClennan

When we are used to following it's hard to be consistently aware. Mindfulness helps us gathering consciousness around what has trapped us into unawareness. When we can 'step back' we can open to greater awareness. How can we move beyond the beliefs we've become stuck in?Politically we tend to polarize and loose awareness. We are lucky to be able to look back as well as looking forward. How do we change ourselves so that we are mindful, not only of ourselves, but also of the planet and others? When we are aware we can change and find ways to heal the planet. Children are more aware than we think...if the aren't numbed down in school or through other things that happen to them. Today ask "Am I conscious of my reactions, how am I affecting to the environment, others and myself?".

As long as you think that the cause of your problem is “out there”—as long as you think that anyone or anything is responsible for your suffering—the situation is hopeless. It means that you are forever in the role of victim, that you’re suffering in paradise.”

" Comparison is Odeous" William Shakespeare . When we compare we loose who we are and judge who you are. Comparison makes us insecure and judgmental of ourselves and others. This week let's become mindful of how we compare and bring conscious of how how we compare.
