Elizabeth Brink: Growing up with ADHD

Listen Later

Episode 14 with Elizabeth Brink.

“It’s a lifelong process of seeing yourself in the past — even from just last week — and realizing, 'Yeah, that was the ADHD.’"

Elizabeth is an ADHD coach who helps women with ADHD get unstuck. Her clients are building skills to live with less shame while managing ALL the things of life, work, and family. She’s also trained and mentored by some of the ADHD coaching greats: Nancy Ratey, Linda Roggli, and Denslow Brown.

Elizabeth lives Kansas City, MO, with her husband and two young children. You can find Coach Elizabeth online at Thriving Sister Coaching and supporting women with ADHD in The ADHD Enclave.

Elizabeth was diagnosed in 4th grade at age 9, and she’s my first guest who was diagnosed in childhood. That said, her experience as an adult is similar to many of the other women I’ve interviewed because the diagnosis did not mean much and was kind of forgotten until she reached her 30s, and especially later when she became a mother.

We talk a lot about motherhood and how much women with ADHD struggle through the baby and toddler years and why that is — from the overwhelming responsibilities and lack of structure to the sheer noise and chaos of those little creatures.
