Trigger Warning: This episode discusses topics including disordered eating, exercise obsession, and mental health challenges, which may be distressing for some listeners.
Join us this week as we speak with the incredibly inspiring Rosa Power, nee Flanagan — former elite middle-distance runner turned co-founder of the Two Raw Sisters, the food and wellness platform that’s flipping traditional ideas of health on their head.
After being at the top of the game in running, winning numerous national titles and representing New Zealand, Rosa battled with the pressures of high performance sport and unfortunately formed a complicated relationship with food. Stepping away from competitive athletics to rebuild her health from the inside out, what began as a personal healing journey, alongside her sister Margo, has grown into a movement that encourages hundreds and thousands of people - especially women - to nourish their bodies, slow down, and take a more intuitive approach to wellbeing.
In this conversation we dive into Rosa’s story: from life on the track to life in the kitchen, how she redefined her idea of success, and why the conversation around food, body image, and health needs to change — especially in sport for women.
