Erin was so gracious to come on the show and process her birth with me. Her baby is turning one year old this week! This is a sensitive birth story that was thrown off even more due to Covid. One year ago the hospitals where constantly changing in what, where, when and how they wanted women to birth in that system. Mom’s who had originally planned to have a hospital birth where quickly changing to Homebirth’s admits the chaos. Some moms chose to stay and hope that covid restrictions wouldn’t throw off their birth.

 

Erin experienced a traumatic birth and she shares openly with us what that was like for her and some redeeming aspects that came from this experience. Coming from someone who has also experienced a traumatic birth we need to get better at listening to those who have had trauma. Erin shares the importance of the community she had and how she was also able to contribute to the community through breast donor milk.
