In this episode we sit down with Maria Rendon, professor at UC Irvine where she conducts research and teaches in the topics of urban sociology, immigration, poverty and social inequality. Maria was the first one of her family to attend college and received her PhD in Sociology and Social Policy from Harvard University. Maria is a single mom and has two beautiful little girls, she shares with us tips on how to talk to kids about subjects like race, politics and immigration.
