In this episode, Haylie Pomroy is joined by Jeff Cournoyer, MHS, ATC, an Exercise Physiologist, to explore the positive and negative effects of exercise, especially for individuals managing chronic illness.

Jeff delves into the science of exercise physiology, including anaerobic threshold, overtraining syndrome, and the true definitions of exercise and exertion. He discusses the therapeutic benefits of rest, debunks common nutritional myths and diet regimens, and provides guidance on how to assess whether exercise is restorative or potentially harmful.

The goal is to help you achieve a positive metabolic state without pushing your body beyond its limits. Learn how to listen to your body, monitor its signals, and grant yourself permission to rest when needed.
