Emma Bant grew up on a dairy and had aspirations to take her parent’s dairy farm to the next level. Although was laughed at by a careers councillor at school, that’s exactly what she has done. In this chat you'll hear how she fell in love with the cows, took time off the day to day operations to raise her 4 children and how she grabbed the opportunity to be the full time ‘farmer’ after the breakdown of her marriage. She is incredibly open about some of the challenges she has faced in the last 5 years, the goals, upgrades and changes she and current partner Lucas have been able to implement over the years and the hope for a continued 20% increase in efficiency every year.
This is Emma's story.

About CREAM OF THE CROP
The conference, in it's second year is an opportunity for women in the dairy industry to come together to learn, connect and reflect. Recognising the contribution, regardless of their role, they make to the industry and their wider community.
The 2023 event will be on March 1st and 2nd, with the first day being held in the Koroit Theatre, followed by an inclusive evening networking event in Warrnambool and a then half day tour in the surrounding region of South West Victoria.
With a carefully considered 1.5 day program, attendees will have the opportunity to be challenged and inspired by speakers, panels, workshops, and farm and factory tours; as well as having the opportunity to network with like-minded people in the industry. The conference is open to farmers and service providers of all ages and stages, and the organisers encourage both group and individual registrations.
