Dr. Cody Gingerich // #ClinicalTuesday // www.ptonice.com
In today's episode of the PT on ICE Daily Show, Extremity Division lead faculty member Cody Gingerich discusses the importance of prioritizing "big rocks" over "small rocks" in patient care. He emphasizes that key elements such as load management, appropriate dosing in rehabilitation, and overall capacity building through resistance training, cardiovascular exercise, nutrition, sleep, and stress management are critical for effective injury recovery. In contrast, "small rocks," which include manual therapy, dry needling, cupping, and various self-care techniques like braces and taping, play a lesser role in moving the needle in long-term rehabilitation.
