In today's episode, Tony and Carrie Auchly share their journey into short-term rental investing, specifically their experience with a new build property in Driggs, Idaho just outside of Jackson Hole, Wy.

They fell in love with the area and decided to invest in a vacation rental property there. They faced challenges with finding existing properties due to low inventory, so they decided to build a new property. They had to fire their original contractor half way through the build and ended up self-performing a significant portion of the work.

Despite the challenges, they successfully completed the build within a year and became the number one property in their market. Carrie and Tony discuss their experience with building and launching their short-term rental properties. They emphasize the importance of having clear property goals and a vision for what they wanted to achieve.

They also highlight the value of being able to pivot and adapt during the building process. The Auchly's stress the importance of setting up the property to be loved by themselves and their guests, rather than focusing solely on maximizing profits. They share their success in booking guests and the positive feedback they have received. They also discuss their plans for future properties and offer advice for others considering a new build.
