Patrick Robey
Patrick Robey has been named the ninth Head Baseball Coach in Belhaven program history as announced by the Blazers' Vice President and Director of Athletics Scott Little on Monday.
Robey joins Belhaven from Madison Central High School (MS) where he has had strong success in 10 years at the helm of the Jags' program. Most recently, the Jaguars won the MHSAA 7A State Championship this past spring with the championship round hosted at the Blazers' home field, Trustmark Park. Overall, Robey led Madison Central to three state championships overall as he and the Jaguars took home the MHSAA 6A State Title in both 2016 and 2021.
Under Robey, Madison Central had a year of national recognition in 2021 following their 6A State Championship as they were named Baseball America's High School Team of the Year and Robey was named the National High School Baseball Coaches Association Coach of the Year. Across his 10 years at Madison Central, Robey has led the Jags to seven MHSAA Regional Championships and his continued success has earned him numerous local Coach of the Year awards including being named the Mississippi 7A Coach of the Year and Mississippi Scoreboard Coach of the Year this past spring.
Prior to his tenure at Madison Central, Robey was the Head Coach at Lafayette County High School in Oxford for three seasons leading the Commodores to two District Championships and was twice named District Coach of the Year. Robey began his Head Coach career at South Panola High School in Batesville where he spent 11 years leading the Tigers. He was named the Chickasaw Athletic Conference Baseball Coach of the Year in both 2005 and 2006 while at South Panola.
Robey's coaching career began with a pair of collegiate stops, serving as a Graduate Assistant Coach at his alma mater, Delta State, for two seasons from 1999-2001 before spending time as an Assistant Coach at East Central Community College in Decatur. Along with his storied coaching career, Robey has spent time working as an Associate Scout for the Colorado Rockies as well as serving as an instructor at baseball camps for Ole Miss and Mississippi State.
