#45 Supplement Your Teacher Salary as an Adjunct College Professor
As I was leaving college with my Bachelor's Degree in December 1994 (Holy crap that sounds so long ago!) I told myself that somehow, someday I would teach college myself. I had a couple of amazing professors who inspired me to dream that big dream at the ripe old age of 22.
After 26 years of teaching K-6, I got that chance.
I can now put on my resume that I am an adjunct college professor with 2 semesters under my belt at a small community college in the same town where I teach and I freaking love it.
There are a lot of teachers who supplement their teaching salaries with jobs outside of the classroom but I get to supplement mine within another classroom and I would recommend it to anyone who is even remotely interested.
Because teaching is teaching…. And I was born to teach.
And so when I came across today’s guest who also teaches at the college level, I knew we had to talk about it with my listeners.
Today's guest is Christy DeVito and she has taught as an adjunct professor since 2011. This year, she was honored with the Outstanding Adjunct Award. She volunteers as a club advisor for an education club and has served as a mentor for newer adjunct instructors in the education department.
On this episode of the Sped Prep Academy Podcast, Christy shares with us...
