The Great Birth Rebellion

Episode 88 - What if I need to push before I’m fully dilated?

Listen Later

In this episode Mel answers the questions submitted by the premium hub members. They have access to the ‘ask Mel a question’ button and Mel is answering their questions in their own exclusive hub episode (which happens once a month)... but today you’ll get a treat of getting the first question answered here publicly… but if you want to hear the rest, you’ve got to be a hub member. Today, Mel discusses what to do if you get an urge to push your baby out, but your cervix isn’t fully dilated yet.

Premium hub members will also get to hear the answers to the other questions in the longer version of this episode and they’ll be learning about:

  • How do I get my partner on board with a homebirth?
  • Is there ever a time where CTG is beneficial during labour and birth?
  • If I want to start being a birth worker, how do I start getting experience?
  • What are the chances of having another postpartum haemorrhage if I have had one in the past? And should I have active management with medication this time as a preventative measure?
  • What are the chances of having a retained placenta again if I had one last time?
