Some beauty trends are just a bit of fun regardless of how much we might cringe at them further down the line, like with the 'blush-blind' trend we're now seeing all over TikTok, but other beauty trends can actually be extremely damaging, and cause serious issues with body and face dysmorphia, perception drift, and put pressure on people to alter and manipulate their natural features. Hyper-fixating on features that don't fit the current beauty fads can cause us to negatively spiral and make permanent changes to fit temporary trends, which begs the question, should features or body types ever be trends?
