Welcome back to a new season of Gold Ribbon Conversations.
Today I’m joined by Walter Kolsch Director of Systems Biology Ireland & Conway Institute, UCD & one of the founding members of Childhood Cancer Ireland Alan Pearson who are working together in what is the biggest investment in cancer research in Ireland.
It started out as purely research-focused but they recognised how important it was to include patients. The goal is to help people to live normal lives, to understand these diseases better so that they can design better treatments.
As a parent who has walked this path, Alan expresses what it means for patients and parents - and what it can mean for the future.
