First Respodcast: A 9-1-1 Watch-Along

This week we're joined by a VERY special guest, self-described niche internet microcelebrity Justin Gross! Justin was a contestant on gay reality dating show For the Love of DILFs, and if you haven't heard of it, trust that it's about to change your life. Luckily, Justin was happy to take part in our copaganda complaining, fake wine analysis, and Taylor Kelly stan-a-thon. We did go on some longer tangents than usual at the beginning of this episode, so have some timestamps:

00:00 - Getting to know Justin/For the Love of DILFs discussion

10:31 - Justin's 9-1-1 journey

15:34 - Copaganda discussion

Join us for a long, chaotic, partially late-night discussion of 9-1-1's first Halloween episode! Just in time for Valentine's day! There's nothing more romantic than pulling the plug on your estranged father, finally moving on from your long-distance situationship, rekindling your toxic trauma-bonded lavender marriage, and a GHOST calling 9-1-1!

Both Ryan and Jane felt a little off during this recording (a one-day something in retrograde perhaps) and it contributed to a rather cynical, chaotic atmosphere. Hear us sing the praises of mean girl icon Taylor Kelly, argue very intensely about whether the lsd-laced dessert eaten by the 118 was fudge or brownies, and educate about the importance of attentive driving while listening to First Respodcast.

It's AWFUL nice to see you, listeners. Today's episode opens with a discussion of mostly-forgotten entries in the Great American Songbook and closes with a discussion of the various cons of potentially killing off Bobby Nash. Enjoy, you awful people!

Join us for a chaotic breakdown of 9-1-1 season 2, episode 4, Stuck, not to be confused with 9-1-1 season 1, episode 9, Trapped. Featuring our first guest, gay twitter microcelebrity Brooklyn from Belfast, in a silly little segment that may or may not have been a total bust. Also, we learned of legendary filmmaker David Lynch's passing while on the air, so enjoy that! RIP to the big boy!

In this squeakquel to our first two-part episode, we discuss season 2 episode 3, "Help Is Not Coming." And you'd better believe no one is coming to help you escape our 15-minute ramble about Grey's Anatomy and Lin-Manuel Miranda that opens this episode.

On today's respodcast episode, we unpack the first half of 9-1-1's earthquake two-parter. Featuring Glee's own Andrea Carmichael a.k.a. Entitled Woman, a child named Kat, a dog named Paisley, the first appearance of 9-1-1 icons Christopher Diaz and Josh Russo, and Jane NOT hating on Eddie but merely criticizing him a measured and appropriate amount.

It's the one you've all been waiting for, nearly TWO HOURS OF BUDDIE YAPPING!! In our season 2 premiere, iconic fan favorites Eddie Diaz and Maddie Buckley make their first appearances, much to your hosts' excitement. And with that, a ship was born. Things would never be the same. We apologize for the people we are going to become from this episode on.

We've finally reached 9-1-1's season one finale! Thank you all for joining us on this first leg of our journey. Hear us gush over the beginning of Bathena, share our final thoughts on Abby's impeccable wardrobe, and allow Jane to reference both The Social Network AND The Kissing Booth in one episode. Let's just say Jane edited this one. And writes all these descriptions.

Today we find ourselves TRAPPED in a discussion of 9-1-1 season 1 episode 9, Trapped. I don't know if you picked up on this, but this episode is actually all about being trapped. Several characters get into situations in which they are, either physically, metaphorically, or both, trapped. They also play the song Trapped by Bruce Springsteen just to further emphasize that the story is about being trapped. It's easy to feel trapped while watching TV episodes about the concept of being trapped. We all feel a little trapped sometimes. I'm trapped right now. Trap trap trap trap trap trapped.
