In episode 32, we talk football, strength training, and nutrition with Jon Heck. Coach Heck is a former NFL and college strength and conditioning coach.
Jon and his wife (Deanna) recently had their first child and decided to step away from the crazy world of college coaching to focus on raising their child, and he has turned his side hustle into a full-time job.
He is a private strength coach, strength training consultant, and nutritionist. He owns Hammer & Chisel Performance, LLC (be on the lookout for his website, which is coming online soon). He is available for online video consults.
A graduate of North Carolina and a four-year letter winner for the Tar Heels, Heck holds a bachelor's degree in exercise and sports science and a minor in sports nutrition from UNC. He was a four-year starter at right tackle for the Heels and a two-time All-ACC selection in 2015 and 2016, where he helped lead UNC to appearances in the Russell Athletic Bowl and Sun Bowl.
After his playing days, he worked as a strength coach at UNC, with the Houston Texans, and most recently for the Troy University Trojans.
I hope you enjoy the conversation with Coach Heck as much as I did.
