Danielle Nation is a pelvic health OT in Rochester, Minnesota, with over 1 year experience. She earned her bachelor's degree in psychology and entry level OTD at St. Kate's in St. Paul, Minnesota. Danielle is passionate about equitable healthcare for trans and gender expansive individuals, as well as integrating trauma informed care as an essential piece of gender affirming care.

In this epside, Danielle and I discuss:

  • A day in the life of Danielle Nation (She  gives us a snapshot into a client you are seeing.
  • How she is getting the word out to see more of these clients in pelvic health settings
  • The majority of her caseload are referrals from GI / colorectal. She talks about what diagnosis she is seeing.
  • Trauma and gender affirming care and how they overlap
  • She will be presenting to physicians who work with trans and nonbinary patients on screening for pelvic floor dysfunction and how pelvic therapy can take a role in care for their patients.  She talks about  3 things you are hoping they walk with knowing.
  • How to talk about Pelvic health that is not retraumatizing
  • Pelvic Health should not just be practiced through the biomechanical lens. We talk about the BPS approach and moving through our day functionally
  • Trauma informed care is essential in Pelvic health

Inside Pelvic OTPs United you'll find:

  • Weekly group mentoring calls with Lindsey. She's doing this exclusively inside this community. These aren't your boring old Zoom calls where she is a talking head. We interact, we coach, we learn from each other.
  • Highly curated forums. The worst is when you post a question on FB just to have it drowned out with 10 other questions that follow it. So, she's got dedicated forums on different populations, different diagnosis, different topics (including business). Hop it, post your specific question, and get the expert advice you need.

More info here. Lindsey would love support you in this quiet corner off social media!
